Choosy hand

“Cris, how about your budget for ballpens?”. My counterpart in the department asked when I submitted my fiscal year budget for office supplies during my first year in URC. I told her I didn’t include it in the budget for I can’t use the pens. The list is long, but all are ballpoint pens and I don’t use ballpoint pens anymore. You see, I am left handed. So, the position of my hand holding the pen is different resulting to a different stroke. That makes a great effect on whether the pen would write or not. So funny that sometimes, a pen writes when others are using it and it won’t write when I use it. Sometimes, I am joking, my hand is choosy….only branded pens will write when I use it. Thus, I use my own pen when filling up forms in offices, in banks or anywhere I go.

Since high school, I am using only one brand of pen, be it ballpoint or sign pen. When I am already working, I noticed that even ballpen of my favorite brand won’t write.  Also, I noticed that my handwriting depends on the pen that I am using. Hence, I don’t like my handwriting when I am using other brands of pen. Wanna know the “evolution” of pens in my hands? First, I started with Pilot Ballpens when I was in high school then shifted to Pilot G-Tech during college and finally, Pilot G-2 when I started to work. That’s the reason why I was branded as Ms. Pilot in my previous work. Wow! I must be paid by Pilot now for plugging their products. :-)

Depressant and Stimulant

Among our 10 boys in the class during high school, I am glad that none of them get addicted to prohibited drugs. Out of curiosity, they did try (according to them) but never get dependent on it though it’s been rampant especially with teenage boys. Others get into it because of peer pressure while others get hooked in it because they find happiness and satisfaction doing it. I mean, its either a depressant or a stimulant depending on what they use. I did remember some of our boys branding schoolmates or friends who noticeably gained weight as using depressant and those who lost weight as using stimulant. Well, it may have sense in one way or another because deppresant makes you sleep a lot and eat a lot while stimulant keeps you awake but have lost your appetite. Do I speak like I’ve tried using such prohibited drugs? I just know it because it’s discussed in our Clinical Psychology class. But of all the drug dependents I know, only few of them get into drug rehabilitation and successfully finished the program.

Social Network

“Ate, are you done?”, “Ate, wake me up when you’re done”, “Ate, I’m next in line”….those are some of my youngest sister’s tag lines when she wants to use the pc for her internet session. Like Ella, she will hurriedly sit in front of the pc once I get up to eat or do something. When she can’t even get a chance during my break periods, she would wait until late in the evening just to make her day complete. Ace even noticed she was teary-eyed when she cannot access her account.*lol* Guess what she’s doing? Visiting her social network account! Well, at her age, that must be her satisfaction and will even spent hours in it, opening all her friends’ page, leave a comment, look over her friends’ friends, add them up in her friends’ list (though others are only acquiantances), upload photos, etc. That’s what she’s doing everyday and she never gets tired of it. I’m sure she’ll be excited with my newfound site because it’s what she likes and she’ll definitely join 3gb community www.3gb.biz, another social network site and ask her friends to join. Thus, she’ll be more insistent to use the pc just to update her account.
