A year before becoming senior citizen

A super long overdue post.

Daddy Tony (Ace’ dad) celebrated his 59th birthday last June 13 (see, that’s more than a month ago!) and we surprised him with a simple feast of the super yummy roasted native pig from Porkitos lechon (courtesy Ace’ sister – Anne, and hubby – Ian), a shrimp with broccoli from our little kitchen, and rice noodles for long life!

Here’s a few snaps of taken during the celebration.

After eating it is when I realized we haven’t took photos while eating. Oppsss…sorry, our hands are busy pigging out in the yummy lechon. Of course it’s from the yummiest lechon house in the city. Nothing could really beat Porkitos.

It’s just five of us during the occasion. PILs invited a close family friend. Anne and Ian wasn’t able to come home for the celebration but their presence is felt because of the lechon.hahaha. Kidding aside, they’re always with us as they’re just a phone call away.

A must-have: Blood pressure monitors

One of my maternal aunts is suffering from high blood pressure ever since…I can’t remember when! As far as I know, she has that problem when I was still a kid. I noticed she takes a bath at night. I asked my late mother why and she answered because my aunt has a high blood pressure and it is advised that she takes a bath during evenings. That aunt doesn’t observe her diet for she eats whatever she wants regardless if it’s not good for her as it will only alleviate her high blood pressure. She eats without reservation because she cannot eat those foods that satisfies her cravings when she’s gone.LOL.

My aunt makes sure she doesn’t run out of supply of her maintenance medicines for her high blood but I haven’t seen her keeping blood pressure monitors like the Auto-Inflation Digital Wrist Monitor. When she feels her blood pressure shoots up, she would just take her medicines or go to the nearest clinic to have her BP checked. It must be more convenient for her to have one of those that I have seen at Southeastern Medical Supply, Inc. I really thought those health monitoring equipments like blood pressure cuffs are quite expensive that prevents my aunt from getting one only to find out it doesn’t even cost a hundred dollars! The company is even giving out 10% discount on orders $75.00 and above! Nifty thrifty! I’ll better tell my aunt to get an Auto-Inflation Arm Digital Monitor and other health monitoring equipments for she can save a lot if she orders more. Wish she will give me one of those blood pressure monitors.

Happy birthday Mamang

Today is my late Mamang’s birthday. We had a simple evening snack of Bam-i, bread and softdrinks at Manong Joey and Manang Inday’s house. Feels like we’re in our hometown because it is what we usually have during birthdays.

Wherever Mamang is right now, I am sure she is happy with no pains, no sorrows, and no sufferings. I am looking forward for that time when we shall see her again someday.

Happy birthday! We love you and we miss you so much!!!
