We’re cleaning the other room (which is supposed to be my home office but was converted to a stockroom). Ace’ works in that room while I am working in the living area. We’re planning to make use of the room as our home office so I need to clean up and transfer my desk there.
I was sorting through the boxes of files, documents and books when Ace saw this…

It’s a letter from a longtime friend (a classmate in Elementary and HS). It’s a letter a friend sent via snail mail some nine years ago. That’s how we communicate during our college and after college years (before cellphones, emails and social networking sites dominated the world and became the means of communication). It’s a super long letter about her lovelife. Oh…that’s our favorite topic back then. Talking about cute guys and being so “kilig” or talking about heartaches. Back then, I shuddered in delight while reading every word in the letter as she was relaying how and where she and her first boyfriend (now her husband) met. It’s not through free online dating but circumstances really worked for both of them to meet in an unfortunate situation…and the rest is history.
When I posted this IG photo in FB, that friend was really surprised to know that I still have that letter. You see, I can keep things for long!LOL. That letter was put back to my box and I am not planning to throw the letter. Never. I will keep it as long as I could because it means so much to me – not the content of the letter but more on the thought that a friend took time to write a long letter to me sharing her experiences is something that I cherish.

Shopping is a therapy for women. That’s what I really believed in until I heard a male friend talked about how he shopped for one thing that he really loved – an electric guitar – when he was so stressed with his work being an ophthalmologist in the biggest government hospital in the city. The ladies were all giggling at the fact that he did bought an expensive electric guitar without second thoughts just to make him feel relieved from the stress he is going through that time. This friend, like other gents in our HS class, loves playing with electric guitar so much and could talk about their obsession for hours. I bet our guys find music as their stress reliever and would jump in joy when they see electric guitar for sale at a very low price. So, who told you guys don’t know how to shop when they’re stressed? My friends do!

Half of my day was spent sorting my clothes (because Ace was done with his own the night before) that we will send to fellow bloggers and my family who were victims of flash flood last Saturday dawn due to Typhoon Sendong. I need to make a separate post about that “tragedy” later. For now, I want to concentrate with how I am thankful for JRS EXPRESS’ way of helping the victims of the killer flash flood.

JRS Express will ship donations to certain recipients in Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City. This is really helpful especially to the people who wanted to send help to their friends, family, or relatives in the affected areas.
Upon knowing that JRS Express will send donations for free, I immediately packed our old (some are new) and unused clothes, together with new underwears for the family and relatives of fellow bloggers. We also sent 2 boxes of bottled water – 1 for friends and 1 for my family. Thanks to Nature’s Spring for giving HUGE discount!
The stuffs for my family – Daddy, sister, and BIL – will be sent the next day. Sister told us not to send too many clothes. Daddy wanted us to send baby stuffs instead in preparation for sister’s delivery on February. But of course we have to send some clothes and other stuffs including water and food to them so we will be sending a big box.
After packing the clothes, we picked-up the water from the office of a fellow blogger then headed to JRS Ponciano Branch. Sending these three boxes to Cagayan de Oro City is FREE! Even Manong Guard was very helpful and accommodating.

The goods are supposed to reach CDO the following morning. Thank you, JRS Express for offering your services of free shipping to CDO and Iligan City!
