Owning a house is every American’s dream. Back in the days, the housing industry was a boom, everyone can almost afford to buy and sell real estate properties. But because of the pressing and hard times, that American dream is slowly becoming out of reach. Many lost their jobs and have been unable to pay for loans and mortgages. Others have opted and resorted to selling their properties even for just short sales just to prevent foreclosures. Many have also considered low income housing as they are affordable. Even in las vegas short sale is rampant. Despite being known as the gambling capital of the world, short sale in las vegas is at an alarming rate. Many are really affected with the present turn of the economy. With the increasing number of homeowners opting for short sale las vegas did not even escape.

If I were in a situation wherein foreclosure is looming, I would also resort to short sale. I would not want my family to suffer from any inconveniences brought about by not being able to pay for loans and mortgages. I would rather take the chances, even if I receive less than what is owed on the mortgage. There will always be ways to make up for things that have been lost and even if that American dream is somehow too far to reach, I will do everything I can just to be able to get hold of it.

House blessing

We’re home! We came back from a quick visit to my hometown then went straight to the house warming of a couple friends. They just had their house renovated and furnished so it’s just but right to have it blessed together with their brand new car.

Buffet table was set outdoors – in their newly landscaped front lawn – with their new two new wooden swing sets as one of the “main” attraction outdoors. Will it also be nice to have an outdoor fireplaces to complete the cozy feel even outdoors? If there’s a place for that, I am sure the owners would want to have a fireplace somewhere in the yard.

I owe a lot of update about our house and haven’t made a decent post about it since we moved in.

Anyway, we moved in the other Saturday (May 7) though repainting isn’t done yet. Just imagine the mess because we cannot put away our things for the cabinets are not ready yet. Trash are piling in the front yard and we don’t know where to dispose all those. Thanks goodness the neighbor who did pest control in and around the house offered his landscaping services for a minimal fee in installment basis! Yay! He know right that we cannot afford to pay him upfront.

So Friday last week, the neighbor and his workers started clearing the front yard, disposed the tree trunks, branches and leaves and the cracked cement (from the original floor) to their disposal area; prepared the area for landscaping and the following day, they’re done (except for the bamboo poles that they failed to finish because they ran out of big poles).

On Saturday morning, everything is almost done (including repainting of the exterior). By that time, the painters are almost finished painting the gutter. The photos below were taken early morning of Saturday.

By the time we went out for an overnight stay at the beach with friends, the neighbor has commissioned his carpenter to make a somewhat “division” made of bamboo poles at the right side of the house that we used as a storage. The division was done when we returned on Sunday afternoon but I failed to take photos of it yet. Bummer!

When I’m done with arranging and putting away our things, I will seriously take photos of the house in all angles.LOL. For now, these are all I could share. No interior photos yet because I haven’t took a single shot yet.*pout*. So excited to share photos, I just can’t wait!
