Holidays 2009

Holidays are over and I haven’t posted how it went in our end. Anyway, we called Daddy to come over so we could spend it with him. It’s been years since we last spent the holidays with Daddy so he arrived on the 23rd. We’ve been spending Christmas eve with my sisters, BIL, Ella and PILs for years but this time PILs went home to Siquijor to celebrate the holidays with MIL’s parents.

We’re taking advantage of the DSLR so we pose non-stop.

The sunglasses that put Ace to shame

Ace’ sunglasses has long been broken. Since we purchased the same style but different color (his is black while mine is brown) last year, I gave mine to him so he could use it but he refused because he said the color is feminine. When did brown became a feminine color? Anyway, how his sunglasses retired was the biggest laughing matter to Che2x. When Ace relayed the story to me, I was laughing too loud. And when I told Che2x the story, she can’t help but laugh so loudly which she hardly got over it. Anyway, the frame of Ace’ sunglasses got a crack that I didn’t mind when he told me about it. I told him he could still use it which he did. After weeks of using that sunglasses with a small crack in the frame, it finally gave up that put him in real shame.

What happened? He was on his way home one Saturday afternoon (just after lunch). As he stooped down to get off from the jeepney, one of the lens of his sunglasses fell on the jeepney’s floor.  Initial reaction was to pick up the lens and get off the jeepney as fast as he can because other passengers saw what happened. Who knows, they’re all laughing when he got off the jeep. Knowing Ace, I know that experience is really shameful for him. Poor Ace! Hence I told him we’d get a durable sunglasses next time. I don’t care about the price as long as it’s durable and won’t put him to shame again. Maybe a Ray Ban Aviator Sunglasses I saw at Zephyr Sunglasses would do but not yet this time. The frame is made of metal so it won’t crack that will cause the lens to fell off. It may be a perfect birthday present for him next month.

Teaser

It’s almost 2 months since we watched Sarah Geronimo’s concert entitled “The Next One” as part of her Philippine Tour last September 20 held at the Holy Cross Gym. I’ve uploaded the photos in my FB and Flickr accounts but haven’t made a post about it. Seems like I can’t make a decent post about it soon, so I am posting some teaser.

She made Ace feel like a teenager again. I am sure “kinilig” sya seeing Sarah in person….singing live on stage. What a beauty with super nice voice! I love you Sarah!

"The Next One" Philippine Tour

This is the main reason why I wanted to watch the concert…Christian Bautista!!!! Goodness, he’s so gwapo! I am too in love with his voice much more seeing him in person and hearing him sing live! I LOVEEEEE YOU Christian!!!!

"The Next One" Philippine Tour

I hope to watch them again LIVE! They’re great singers!

Impressed

Ace impressed me today (oh well, as always). But today’s a different story. While others chose to stay at home or go somewhere else to watch Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto’s boxing fight, we attended the worship service. Our worship schedule is the same time of that big fight. But I never had problem dragging Ace to church. I am expecting a different reply last night but when I asked Ace are we going to attend the worship, he replied with a big Y-E-S! Hence, Manny’s fight is not a BIG deal for him ‘coz he can live without watching it together with the millions who are waiting for this fight.

Night owl

I don’t understand this. I slept late, errr…actually at dawn (because I need  to be working during office hours in the US) then after a few hours I am up again. I was hoping to go back to sleep after Ace left for work but I find myself here in front of the PC, with eyes so sleepy and mind so awake. My work schedule changed due to additional load that was given to me (yay moolah!) but I don’t know how long I can do this. Ace seemed to be not bothered with my work schedule maybe because we don’t have a choice. But for days that I am having 3-4 hours of sleep, I feel like I am floating. I have the whole day to sleep but as much as I want to have a deep sleep, I am always awakened by the neighborhood kids playing outside the compound. I almost want to send them home but I am just extending my patience now and if they do it EVERYDAY, I will really tell them to play in their respective homes and not in the street.

Aside from the kids, sunlight streaming in from the window won’t allow me to have a deep sleep. I need something to simulate night time. Is it time to get blinds or night curtains? Duh, that’s way out of budget this time as we are preparing for a trip. Anyway, I’ll try to get some sleep after this. Wish the night owl some luck!

Childhood dream

Going to Disneyland is every child’s dream, I suppose – unless they have no idea of what disneyland looks like. It’s not actually a child’s dream for me (because I know we cannot afford to go there when I was a kid) but an adult’s dream. When I heard about former colleagues going to Disneyland, I also dream that one day I would have the chance to visit the place and be a child once again. Wish somebody with a big heart will hand me and Ace Disney Tickets and we would gladly accept it…even if it’s a ticket for Disney World in Orlando? Who cares! We would fly there by all means. Now, stop! So much for my dream. Did I say Orlando? Yes, Orlando Fun Tickets is the leading online ticket seller Walt Disney World, universal Studios, SeaWorld and other attactions. So people in Orlando and the nearby cities, rekindle your childhood dreams by going to Disney World. How I wish there’s Disney World over here!

Neurons, wake up!

After almost a week of being in haitus, I am now dragging myself to update my blogs. It’s not that I ran out of personal updates because I have a lot of stories to tell but other things ripped me of my blogging time and the blogging neurons isn’t active yet. Now I am getting bored with Farm Town so it’s definitely not FT that I’ve been busy with. I just felt busy even if I am only staring at the computer. Actually, with all the things lined up to be done, I don’t know where to start so just thinking about it and doing nothing about it kept me busy. Anyway, I hope I could finish a handful of things today so the load will be lighter as the weekend approaches. Hence, I am slowly waking up my neurons so I could start a productive day.

Telephone bloopers

When was the last time that I answered a telephone? It’s been ages! Since I quit being a corporate slave, I also stopped using a telephone because we don’t have a landline at home. So when the phone rang yesterday (yes, our PLDT landline is already working after a few hours that it’s been installed), I almost jumped in surprise! Unconsciously, I answered…”URC. Good afternoon.”*lol*. That’s my line every single day, every time I answered the phone in my previous workplace for almost 3 years. So it’s been in my system. Until now, when I pick up the phone, my mind unconsciously says that. For sure it will take time for me to get over that “URC….” line because that’s what also happened when I transferred from Macondray Plastics to URC. During the frst few months, everytime I pick up the phone, I pause for a while before saying something because I might utter the wrong company. So when Ace called a while ago, it took me a second to say “hello”.

Escape from burnout

If you’re working really hard and burnout hit you, the first thing that would come to mind is fly away from the daily routine, from the stressors, and everything! So that’s what some of my HS friends here and abroad are doing. Going on a vacation or just a weekend getaway to relax, and recompose one’s self. For me, the easiest escape is the beach or anywhere that I could commune with nature and play with our camera.

Pinky, one of my HS classmate now based in Canada is making sure she’s getting her fair share of relaxation and break from work every year. This year, she’s scheduled to visit here. I just don’t know where she’ll be going next year. Maybe if she’ll plan on visiting Dennis (our classmate who’s now based in California) or visit Las Vegas on her own, I would suggest Riviera hotel on where to stay. I know she’s not playing in casinos but she might have a great time in the hotel. Who knows, she’ll enjoy it there. :-)
