Perfect timing

Another motto that I and Ace are living with now is “there’s a time for everything”. You see, we aren’t into saving much this time because we are still in the stage of personal gratification aside from our monthly financial obligations. I was concerned about this one time so I told him (in a worried manner) “we aren’t saving” and he immediately replied “there’s a time for that. For now let’s just enjoy the fruit of our labor”. Exactly! Let’s enjoy life! Coming from my husband’s mouth who is such as worrier for the future? He must have changed his paradigm. That made me think, it’s ok to shop!LOL. We are taking turns in spoiling each other and we both love it! Hence, there’s always time for everything.

A time to shop and a time to save

A time to enjoy life and a time to worry about the future

A time splurge on things and a  time to buy gold bullion for investment

A time to sow and a time to reap the rewards of what we sow.

Truly, things in life has its own perfect timing. Life is great only if you know how to enjoy the moment and not focus on worrying about what we will eat tomorrow, in short, trust in HIM.

Growing old together

Not all couples are growing old happy and inseparable. If there’s one couple that I admire for that, it’s my parents-in-law. For more than nine years that I have known them, they’re always together. Happy together despite all odds. A great example of living by the marriage vow “in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, till death do us part”. If you just listen to their stories, it’s full of wisdom and in their lives you will learn a lot especially in dealing with married life.

I am so blessed to have married a man who have grown by their teachings and their example. My husband may not be perfect but I can see the values that was instilled in him. Hence I may not need the best eye cream for wrinkles in the near future because my husband is not giving me reason to be unhappy (read: unhappiness=more wrinkles). I can see we will grow old like DadMa, happy together.

Aside from the values that our lifetime partner has, the secret of having a good husband is being a good wife. As the old saying goes, “you reap what you sow”. Hence, a good wife makes a good husband.

Have heard about that but it didn’t register in my mind (or was it stashed in my subconscious) but when I read about Julie’s post talking about that thing, I was reminded of the thing that I should have posted weeks ago. I am actually planning to write it down here but I just forgot (or too lazy). Read more… »

The Road Not Taken

Aside from Desiderata, this poem is one of my few favorites because it talks about individualism and assertion and it’s my tendency not to take the common path others have throd. Read more… »

I am cleaning my inbox earlier and have found an email sitting there for months…unread. I was caught by the title so I read it and found it interesting and helpful. I’ve learned a lot and I hope you will also take time to read and learn from this. This may help us have a lasting, and happy marriage.

Almost broke

It’s year-end sale in all malls. As much as I want to shop, my wallet is almost empty. I have withdrawn my earnings last Tuesday, Dec. 23 and I forgot that aside from the regular holidays, the rest of the following days until New Year is declared as Special Non-Working day so the banks are all on holiday*sigh*. I was hoping to receive my earnings from paypal on the 29th but it seems so impossible to happen. But then I was still hopeful that a miracle would happen so I was checking my UnionBank account online from time to time but to no avail. Such a bummer. I should have withdrawn it through Xoom so the money will be in my hands within the day. I am actually thinking about that before I transferred my paypal earnings to my UnionBank EON account but Xoom’s service fee is almost $10 so I opted to withdraw through my bank account. Now I will be celebrating New Year without personal money in my wallet. Of course Ace’ money is also mine but it feels different if I have my own money especially if I do shopping. Hence, the impulsive buyer was tamed for a while. Not totally, though because I was able to shop for simple gifts for mine and Ace’ family. Read more… »

The Memo

I was cleaning my inbox earlier and finally decided to open the emails that’s been sitting there for months already. Just wanna share this to everybody.

To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: GOD
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE

This is God. Today I will be handling All of your problems for you. I do Not need your help. So, have a nice day. I love you.

P.S.

And, remember…
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do Not attempt to resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME. All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.

Should you decide to send this to a friend; Thank you. You may have touched their life in ways you will never know!

Now, you have a nice day.

Gifts

More than a month to go and it’s new year again. I am beginning to plan what I will give to my family and relatives on New Year. It’s been a yearly tradition for our relatives in Mamang’s side to give gifts on New Year’s eve. Last year, I and Ace bought toys for the kids, flip flops for the guys, umbrella for the gals, coin purse for my older cousins, vanity kits for my aunts including Inang (my grandma) and hand towels for my uncles including Tatang (my grandpa). Last month, I told Ace I wanted to give my aunts a handbag and I hope I could save enough to buy them handbags. Read more… »

A pat on my back

My mind was preoccupied with some concerns that I didn’t realized I have bigger things to concern myself with until I have read my sister Carol’s latest post here. It has become a habit to visit her blog everyday to update myself with what’s happening with them in the province and to amuse myself with something new about Ella. Carol was worried about Che2x’s exam tomorrow on which I didn’t worry that much about the money for her final school fees because she said she’ll take a special exam next week rather than paying tomorrow and taking the final examinations as scheduled.
