Update on the boxes we sent to CDO via JRS Express
Posted on Dec 28, 2011 under Family, Miscellaneous | No CommentI blogged about the FREE SHIPPING of donations to Sendong victims in CDO and Iligan City via JRS Express days ago. Then I forgot to post an update here. The boxes were sent Tuesday last week. We were told that it will arrive CDO morning of Wednesday. But the recipients (Mommy Ruby and my sister) were busy and wasn’t able to pick up the boxes at JRS Express. The next day I told Che2x to pick up the box for it might be lost among the boxes. By lunch time sister texted me that she and her husband got the box. In the afternoon, Mommy Ruby said the boxes I sent her were delivered together with the box from another blogger-friend in ComVal. What a great service, JRS Express!
On Thursday afternoon, I and Ace sent another box for my family in CDO. We arrived JRS Ponciano branch at past 5PM. The lady at the counter told me that the truck has already left and that my box will be shipped the following week. Oh no! That can’t be because BIL needs a working shoes and we’re sending Ace’ 2-month old shoes (that we bought from the American Surplus store) for him to use because he’s been reporting to work in a pair of rubber slippers. I was a little bit worried. I asked her when will it be sent to CDO if ever I will pay for the shipping fee. She answered “the following day”. While I was weighing things – whether to pay for the shipping fee or wait for next week for the box to be shipped, the lady called out somebody and asked him when will be the next free shipment for CDO. The gentleman must be the supervisor. He approached me so I told him about my concern. When he asked me where is my “padala”, I pointed my box and he instantly said “yan lang pala. Isakay mo na yan sa truck” and carried my box. Ace has to courteously get the box from him kasi nakakahiya na sya pa ang magdala papunta sa truck. The delivery van is almost full with boxes and bottled water and we are very thankful our box was accommodated. Sister and BIL got the box the following day and they were both happy that BIL won’t go to work in a pair of slippers anymore. BIL and Daddy got Ace’ clothes too as the latter sent almost half of his clothes to the former.
On Friday, we learned that JRS Express’ free shipping will end that day. Sadness. But we’re thankful we were able to send some stuffs to CDO for FREE! Now if we need to send more (like water), we will just send it through the bus line plying the Davao-CDO route. Once again, a million thanks to JRS Express for the free shipping! You have helped a lot! You’ll be blessed a thousandfold for the public service you have offered.
