What da….We have no water for 18 hours! I really loathe Davao City Water District for the inefficient means of information dissemination. Oh well, I was never impressed with their services ever since I stayed here in Davao. Frequent repairs, replacements, etc., etc. Why install pipes, valves and others that aren’t durable in the first place? Gosh, they really suck big time! Water interruption for an hour or two is just okay. But for 18 hours, it’s a different story especially that they have not utilized all means to disseminate the information to ALL concessionaires.
I don’t mean to be rude but I must admit, I was never a happy customer of DCWD in terms of their services. The quality of their water is good but services is so poor. When we are still living somewhere in north where water interruption lasts for days up to a week numerous times in a year and when I called them to know the reason of the interruption, “the pump broke”. Pump being broken countless times in a year? That’s ridiculous! Why not install a pump that is of HIGH QUALITY and implement PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE from time to time? Poor planning and implementation. If this kind of service will continue, I might need a treatment for hair loss soon because they never fail to stress me out and that stress will cause hair fall in the long run.
I think DCWD is adapting to the government’s motto: SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, THIS IS WHERE YOUR TAXES GO.
I heard Ezra band’s music during a friend’s wedding that we attended the other Saturday. I heard them play great music but I was so engrossed catching up with friends so I didn’t really mind them. The master of ceremonies even mentioned to support the group via text votes because Ezra Band is a finalist in Pilipinas Got Talent.
Ace’ eyes were pinned in the TV the other Sunday during Pilipinas Got Talent’s airtime but we didn’t see Ezra perform so I told Ace maybe it was already aired weeks before. Ace, who has an ear and heart for music must have moved by the band’s performance during the wedding that he wanted to see the episode when Ezra band performed on stage of Pilipinas Got Talent. I was even instructed to watch the daily episode of Pilipinas Got More Talent hoping that Ezra’s performance will be featured. I’ve watched every episode from Monday till Friday but no Ezra Band being featured.
Last Sunday, I was half-watching half-fb’ing when I heard “Davao del Sur” being mentioned. I shifted my full attention to the TV and Ace blurted “Ezra Band” upon seeing the participants going to the center stage. As expected, all eyes on TV for the whole duration of their performance. Ace even sat too close to the TV.LOL.
Aren’t they talented? I admire the keyboardist a lot for even if he is differently abled, he can play very well. I have complete set of hands and yet I don’t even know how to play a single musical instrument.*sigh*. Anyway, I am just posting this because I am not yet over with them. I want to see more of Ezra Band!
Update on my Satchy? Wait, lemme check this basement dehumidifier first before I go into details about my fashion walk. This is helpful for those who have basements in their homes.
Okay. So as what I told few of my friends, I will go on “fashion walk” (our term when we go to the mall to sport something) once my bag arrives. Since it arrived on a Friday, I was too excited for Saturday to come so I could use it in going to the mall. I thought it wouldn’t make any difference wearing my Coach from my Sylvia Santos (that was given by my colleague during our meeting in Cebu) but I was totally wrong! It was my first time to be looked at from head to foot and people are taking a second look at me and my bag. Am I just paranoid? If I see people wearing nice and authentic bags, I don’t even look at them from head to foot nor will I take a second look at the bag.
I went to the mall’s comfort room and the ladies in line are staring at my bag. One lady wears a Gucci. By the looks of the material, I know it’s an imitation and she was staring at me and my bag until I went out of the comfort room. This is crazy!
Added to that, I have a husband in tow who is so OC. He kept on reminding me not to bump my bag into anything for it might be scratched. Gosh! The choleric doesn’t care about that but the melancholic does so I need to transfer my bag from the right hand to the left when needed.
When we got tired of our fashion walk, we went to Pizza Hut for our dinner. On the way, we passed by a foreigner whom Ace noticed followed us with her stare. Then there’s two ladies walking ahead us wearing an LV (my first dream bag). Judging from the materials of the bag, it might be bought from the boutiques that sells imitation bags. When they look behind, I got another stare at my bag.
I am ashamed to have my picture taken wearing my bag so Ace took a photo of me and my Satchy at Pizza Hut.
The next day we went to the mall again. We went around to look for Ace’ polo for the wedding. Then I decided to roam around the stalls that sells imported clothes from Bangkok and Ace overheard the sales ladies talking about my bag “lahi lage na design iya bag” (Tagalog: “ibang design yung bag nya”, English: “her bag has different design”) Yes, it is definitely different because you can’t see that in stores that sells imitations of signature bags. Just by looking at the material and the style, you would know that it’s authentic.
I will never forget my first fashion walk experience with my very first signature bag. The stare, the head-to-foot look is flattering (though annoying at times). But that won’t stop me from desiring for another one (next year?) because it’s all worth every penny. I just love it!
It’s more than a month now that we are TV-less. Our Samsung 22″ LCD TV broke days after the warranty expired. I’ve read in forums this is not an isolated case as many LCD TV owners had the same problem with ours…their TV broke as soon as the warranty expires. The reason? Technicians cannot give us the exact cause. It will not be because we overused it for we don’t watch TV day in and day out. The panel just broke. Which means, it has reached the end of its “lifespan”.
We brought the LCD TV at the service center days after and the technician’s diagnosis: broken panel (that would cost us more than half the price of the TV when we bought it). LCD TV panels don’t last that long. So that was the reason why Samsung LCD TVs marked down their prices lately! Samsung sales agent said prices of their LCD TVs went down because LED TVs are out in the market which is said to be better than the former but we don’t believe them. Manufacturers must have known the problem with the short lifespan of their LCD TV panels that’s why they came up with led tv.
To date, the TV is still with the service center. If it won’t be fixed, then let it be. I told Ace we will just sell it to Samsung so they could use some parts that they would need to repair other LCD TVs.*lol*. I don’t mind to be TV-less because I am not TV addict. After all, I watch my fave local reality show in the internet but there’s one thing that I miss watching…my fave shows in Lifestyle Network.
At 12 noon everyday, the laptop slows down and opening a site would take a lot of time. It’s the time that Ace has set for the antivirus to run a scheduled scan in ALL DRIVES and ALL FILES. He thought I am not using the lappy at 12 noon so he set it at that time. This reminds me to ask Ace to change the scheduled scan for my convenience. The scan lasts for more than an hour (at most) so imagine the pain of waiting. Ace told me to transfer the photos in drive E so we can exclude it in scanning but I cannot figure out how to exclude it! He must know how to set it so I’d better ask him next time (that if I don’t forget!) or we better find an antivirus software that doesn’t slow down the PC like the Vipre® antivirus and antispyware. Sounds interesting! Ace should take a look at it for it might help us solve the problem of dragging speed when running an antivirus scan. You may check it out too if your PC slows down every time your antivirus scans your PC.
For sure many will rave over quick weight loss supplement that is now in the market. Who doesn’t want to get back in shape in no time anyway? It has always been the most talked about — dieting to lose weight. And yet, we tend to slack on making the first move and later find it hard to keep on track. As for me, I have issues on keeping what I have started especially if I don’t see results that fast. So a long journey of getting back in shape and maintaining the desired figure is definitely not feasible. Just pick your choice, losing weight slowly or fast? Good luck!
If there’s one thing that I really miss in the place where we live before is this nearby subdivision’s entrance that was turned into a jogging track during early mornings and late afternoons. We lived near this perfect place to jog, walk, or bike to tone muscles instead of using just super pump 250 but was only here for a brisk-walk once and numerous ME time for sunset shoots. This is the right place to get sweat because it’s close to nature and you will be definitely inhaling fresh air here. Oh well, nothing has changed. I am still the lazy me to get up early and take a walk around the neighborhood. Much more now that I am working until the wee hours in the morning.
Nothing so much going on around here except that I was able to finish my second photo book. Yay! Hope I have enough funds in my paypal account before the 20th so I’d be able to order it. I spent half of the afternoon browsing in my back-up DVD for photos that I will be uploading in Artscow. I decided to upload the photos taken during our reunion in Kabacan after Tatang’s funeral and the photos taken during the reunion at Mergrande last month. Looking at the photos, I noticed the younger generation have teenage pimples. I went through that stage but not like with what they are going through now…numerous, large breakouts that definitely need acne solutions! If treatment is a “luxury” during my time, I guess these days it isn’t. If it’s not treated, it will surely affect their self-esteem should acne will not stop from recurring.
If we’re insuring our properties, maybe it’s a must to also insure our lives by getting a life insurance. But for me, I am not considering that thing now for I still can’t convince myself to get one with all the needed documents and medical exam records. If I would get one, I want it hassle-free because I dreaded things that needs documents, etc. Just the lazy me! That’s the reason why until now I haven’t updated my status with SSS and Pag-Ibig, and haven’t got my passport. Anyway, back to the insurance issue, maybe I would be convinced to get one once I will find a company with no medical exam needed and no other pertinent documents aside from identification cards and birth certificate.
I think I’m gonna be sick starting tomorrow. Psychosomatic? Sort of. I really need to be sick so I have a good reason to rest. I just don’t feel like I am at my best today. To-do list is getting longer and yet I am not in the mood to do even just one. What I really need now is a good reason to be in bed and rest, in which the only way to do it is to be sick. So I am conditioning myself that I’ll be sick starting tonight or tomorrow. Hope when I wake up I’ll have fever that will tuck me in bed for the rest of the days until I will feel I am totally fine. Speaking of getting sick, I should be checking for medical supplies now. Our first-aid kit isn’t complete that when we needed something we had to wait for tomorrow so we’ll be able to get it at the pharmacy. We need a complete kit not only for us but for the cat and dogs also. I’ve seen Kiaw-Kiaw’s face has a little cut and I can’t clean it because we run out of betadine. Gonna check what’s in store at JazzMedical.com that is known to be the biggest medical retailer in the US. As if I am in the US of A!LOL
