News on oil price hike is something that people are allergic to. With me, I feel like I am not directly affected that much. Maybe because I don’t go out too often, nor own a vehicle. Much more that I don’t make driving a public utility vehicle for a living. The most affected in this continuous oil price increase are the public utility drivers because they consume a lot of petroleum in a day…so their daily income is definitely affected.
Though I am not very much into this issue, I am silently hoping the government will pursue an oil rig project in the country. We have rich resources of oil in some parts of the country and I hope the government will make a move to utilize the resources before other countries will benefit from it. Reading about the eagle ford shale news that is said to be the biggest land-based oil field in the US made me want to realize that oil rig plan for the country, if only I have the power and resources. According to the news, there are lots of Shale gas projects not only in the US but also in other countries including the Asia Pacific region. To date there is an ongoing project in our neighboring countries. I do hope Philippines will be next in line. If the oil rig project is way beyond our reach, I hope they can find huge shale deposit somewhere in the country that can be used to produce shale gas. Crossing my fingers that projects like this will push through for us to be not totally independent on the gas produce of other countries. This way, price of gas will hopefully be regulated by the government.
If all else fail, natural gas is a good source of energy and I think there are lots of resources that are just waiting to be tapped with the help and expertise of the Unconventional Oil and Gas Center who knows best in dealing with it. It is important that these sources of natural gas will be properly exhausted so it won’t be totally exploited.

Hello Tuesday! I woke up early. Just checked my email and crawled back to bed. A few hours later, I woke up to a BED WEATHER. Wish I could crawl back to bed but I am hungry. So we had breakfast while watching Ms. Universe 2011 pageant. I totally forgot that today is the coronation night (day in this side of the world). I am not really fan of beauty pageants and I am not aiming for traffic regarding Ms. Universe 2011 in my blog so that explains why it seems like I .DON’T.CARE about the schedule. So anyway, since it’s showing in the local and cable channels, I just sit down and watch – face blank. I am not even rooting for anybody.

The first time I saw Ms. Philippines Shamcey Supsup walk, it doesn’t impress me. What’s happening to her? I am not a beauty queen but walking with the hips and the shoulders swaying a lot is a No-No for me – in beauty pageants. I prefer the natural, elegant walk – walk like a queen! She seems like walking in the runway of America’s Top Model. Didn’t post my thoughts in FB because I am pretty sure people will kill me. Everybody is rooting for her and here I am talking about how she walks?LOL. Oh, not the walk alone. I don’t like how she stood in front of an audience. With the upper body overly leaning back and butt overly pushed out (like a duck’s butt), she’s like a contestant in a Ms. Gay pageant – not for Ms. Universe. Okay just my observations. I was hoping she would change her walk and poise when she wears her evening gown. But just the same. So that’s how she really walks – like Ms. Gay Universe.
Then the most exciting part came. It’s question and answer. She was asked “Would you change your religious beliefs for the man you love?” I was hoping she would answer it confidently. She did! A twitter friend asked me what is the question to Ms. Philippines is and what’s her answer. So I relayed to her. Then that friend pointed out “selfish answer”. I realized it is. Shamcey Supsup answered the question “If the man loves me, he SHOULD love my GOD”. Religion shouldn’t be a hindrance. For Shamcey’s benefit, there’s no right or wrong answer to that question – but there are always better ways to say it – in a WIN-WIN situation and imposing to LOVE her GOD to a man is not the best thing to answer that question. Just my thoughts.
Anyway, Ms. Philippines bagged 3rd runner-up. Not bad. Congratulations to you, Shamcey!

Ace took photos of the Barbie dolls dressed up by known designers the other month in SM. Looking at the photos, it made me want to have one. Yes, I am a late bloomer on this thing because I never had a Barbie doll when I was a kid. It’s not yet late to have one, right?
