Our Weekend Memoirs

On the third weekend of our DSLR with us (June 01, 2008), we went to People’s Park for a photo walk. People’s Park is the most decent public park here in Davao City and it just opened December 2007. The park’s pretty new so the facilities are all working fine.

They have a replica of a Durian – Davao’s exotic fruit

and the rainbow-colored brick pavement…yes, it’s complete as in ROY G. BIV (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet – thanks to my elementary science teacher for teaching us that ROY G. BIV)

people of all ages go in this park because it is free and being in this park feels like you are in other country.

Our Weekend Memoirs

Last week’s entry was during our first weekend with our DSLR so I will continue posting in this meme from the oldest photos we have in file.

I and Che2x went home last May 22, 2008 for the death anniversary of our mother will be the following day. On Saturday, one of my cousin’s daughter celebrated her birthday at the ONLY inland resort in our hometown – Kabacan. Waterland Resort is actually the second swimming pool in town next to Garagan Spring Resort but the latter closed from business years ago. Our town is located in the middle of Central Mindanao and the nearest beach is in Digos City or if others could dare, somewhere in Parang, Maguindanao I guess. So imagine people in Kabacan go crazy over swimming resorts regardless of the source of water as long as it is a swimming pool, people won’t mind.

Here’s some of my cousins, nephews and nieces….

Our Weekend Memoirs

My first time to join this meme that is hosted by blogger friends. I’ve been meaning to join months before but I just don’t know where to start. We got thousands of photos taken during weekends and I don’t wanna miss posting a thing (that kept joining this meme at bay). Anyway, I decided to start with photos taken right after we got our DSLR.

Our Canon 400D was purchased (through MIL’s credit card) May 17, 2008 (that is Saturday). The following day, we attended the christening of Ace’ HS batchmate’s second daughter at Assumption Parish. We were so excited for this event because we have a new camera! It is our first ever camera so just imagine the excitement.

Learning the tricks in using the DSLR in full manual mode is not rocket science, at least for me and Ace. To be safe, we set the camera to full auto mode (like using a point-and-shoot!) just to make sure we’ll get decent photos.

Anyway, here’s the batchmates – batch ‘94 of John Bosco School (a La Salle supervised school in Mangagoy, Surigao del Sur)
