If you’ve been reading my blogs, you would know that our fur babies are now six – five canines and one feline. Five years ago, it’s just one dog, then came another one. After four years of trying, they finally produced a puppy that made us so happy! Finally we have a puppy in the house. Months after, here came another two puppies. That’s a lot of mouths to feed but it’s part of the joy and pain of having pets. Our dogs are actually guard dogs but we consider them our pets, including the stray cat that Ace adopted years ago.
We may not have pampered them with lots of Dog toys and Toys for cats but we made sure they are eating the right food for them, and not table food. When our first puppy turned one month, Ace bought “him” a ball toy but he outgrew it in no time. Our cat has a toy too but he is not playing with it that often until it was nowhere to be found. We may not get them toys from Premium Pet Supplies 4U that I bumped into lately, what I want to get the dogs are Large dog beds for each of them where they can have a good night’s sleep. I don’t have to worry about the cat because he’s been sleeping comfortably inside the house.

David and Goliath have grown big! They turned a month old the other day but unlike with Thirdie who has a cake when he’s a month-old, we celebrated their one-month birthday without anything. I didn’t even bother taking a photo of them. Bad Momma! Now the two puppies can walk and even run! It amazes us to see them by the front door playing in a minute or two after we leave them at the back of the house. Yesterday morning, Ace woke me up telling me that Goliath is calling out by the front door. So cute! He’s pounding his paws at the door as if knocking which Ace calls “doggie po!” (dog version of “tao po”). Those puppies are so cute that we only wish they won’t grow too fast because we will be truly missing their cuteness when they grow big as Puto, Maya and Thirdie.

My heart almost stopped beating when I didn’t see any sign of David and Goliath’s presence when we got home last Sunday evening. We left the dogs last Friday afternoon and we were back Sunday evening. We filled the small basins with dog food and left enough water for the three dogs to consume while we’re away. The puppies are not eating yet so it’s still safe to leave them with Maya. What we didn’t realize early on is that the puppies could already walk! They could pass through the wooden planks of our fence or through the cyclone wires of the neighbor. Ace kept on calling out their names until Goliath (which we also call “Ate”) came out under the wooden pallet. Such a relief! Now that they could walk, we need to make a makeshift cage for them.
That was our first time to leave the dogs that long. So far, so good but I hate doing it again. I kept on worrying about them so I don’t wanna leave them again all by themselves.
