Back-up

Back-up time again. I am making a back-up file of the photos saved in the computer so I could delete those that are already uploaded in Flickr® hoping that the PC’s performance would improve if there’s a lot of free disk space already. I wouldn’t push myself to do back-up if there’d be no notification that the free memory space is less than 1 gigabyte. Talk about the great procastinator!hahaha. Burning photos is also a pain because the PC is too slow and one DVD lasts for more than an hour. That is why I almost don’t wanna do back-up of our files because my momentum is interrupted. What a good justification!*lol*

Anyway, based on my Flickr® stats, I’ve already uploaded 18,000++ photos and I am not yet halfway of all our files. Sadly, we don’t have print copies of our photos. I always wanted to have some photos printed so I could frame it but I am too lazy to resize it. I need to resize it to my desired print size so it won’t be cropped when it will come out from the printing machine (because people in photo printing shops are too lazy to resize the photos). Now if I can’t have our photos printed, might as well have a digital frame like the one in the picture so relatives and friends may also see our photos since most of them love to see their faces in the picture. I chanced upon that frame in buy[dot]com and it is so tempting because it is free shipping! Wish I have the funds to purchase that online. :-)

Hello! My few constant readers must have wonder where am I or what I’ve been up to lately that made me silent in the blogosphere. Well, I am busy with not so important things. I am spending too much time tending my farm in Farm Town and I am so glad that I am beginning to get tired of it so now I am back to my real self…to the real world.

Remember my post about our coming baby? Yes, finally we got it last Saturday! Thanks to Ace for making this dream come to a reality. It is actually a conjugal property (so I can’t say MINE), but he shared more to it as it is his birthday gift to me and here is our baby… Read more… »

New baby

I’ve talked about our plan of getting a new baby (not the literal baby) in my previous posts and we scheduled it yesterday. It’s actually a gift from Ace but the giver is more excited than the receiver!*lol* After my haircut, we went to Canon dHUB to purchase the item but it’s out of stock. Bummer! All the while we thought we could get it yesterday so we are a bit disappointed. Anyhow, stocks are coming and we reserved one so we might get it tomorrow or on Friday. The people in dHUB are so accommodating so we stayed there for a while and Ace got the chance to try some DSLRs on display. Now he got another thing in mind and I am pretty sure he will work hard to have it. Let’s wait and see next year. :-)

bag-copy

Read more… »

Got an advance New Year’s gift from Ace yesterday….one of my dream lens. :-) I am actually hoping to get an f/1.4 but we cannot afford it yet so he gave me an alternative to that lens…the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8. I love it so much…the narrow depth of field, sharp images, beautiful bokeh and the large aperture opening. I know it’s the cheapest lens in Canon EF series but it is worth the price. Thanks a lot Neyko!

The Velocity 6x is a compact sling pack designed for a compact digital or film SLR with a zoom lens attached up to 5″ long, another small lens or flash and accessories. Inside the main compartment, the camera with lens attached is suspended on two vertical, foam-padded dividers. The Velocity 6x can becarried comfortably like a backpack, but need not be removed to quickly access photo equipment. The well-padded sling strap comfortably distributes the weight and when the bag is swung around to the front, the secure zippered top opens away from the body for fast, convenient access to camera gear. The front pocket has organizer pockets inside to keep a mobile phone, PDA or photo accessories within reach. It also features Tamrac’s patented Memory & Battery Management System™ that uses red flags to identify available memory cards and batteries from ones that are used up. A pocket inside the lid stores filters and lens caps. This pack is also customizable with Tamrac’s Modular Accessory System™ components.

Been eyeing for the TAMRAC VELOCITY 6X camera bag in the internet for weeks now. I was planning to buy it in eBay but was hesitant because it might take so long before it will be delivered here and I’ve been planning to use it during the Kadayawan Festival’s Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan (Kadayawan Festival street dancing) on the 23rd with fellow FPS members. Last weekend, we were at Funtronics in Gaisano Mall to check for replacement battery and CF card that I need for the upcoming shoot. Instead of asking for the battery and CF card, the Tamrac bags on display caught my attention. It’s price is the same as with that in DP Online (I wanted to get one in DP Online but I don’t time to go to the bank to deposit the payment). Hence, after trying it out if our Canon 400D fits in and if wearing it is convenient for me, Ace said “ok, will get it” without second thought. Haha…Ace’ frugal trait didn’t work this time. :-)

The Canon 400D really fits in the bag and since we don’t have extra lens nor a flash, there’s room for my little personal things. And if by chance we can afford to get another lens, I guess it will fit in the bag not unless it’s the long lens Ace has been dreaming of.
