After more than a year of wishing for my dream point and shoot camera – Panasonic Lumix LX3, I changed my mind the last minute and finally got my Panasonic Lumix LX5 the other week. Ace said I’d better get the latter because it is the “upgraded version” where some glitches in the LX3 was fixed.

So I can now go out without bringing our DSLR and it will be more convenient for me. Our DSLR will be used for special occasions or when the need arise. It is more convenient for me now to take quick snaps of things that I wanted to blog about with the Lumix LX5 so our Canon EOS 400D can take a break because we have used it a lot.

So far, so good. I like the color rendition of LX5. Besides, I can take photos on wide angle and the full manual control makes me feel like I am also using the DSLR! It’s been more than I year that I am using the 50mm so it’s really nice to be shooting on a wide angle. Sample photos taken from my LX5 will be posted soon!

Being a technology idiot, I don’t find myself drooling over gadgets at its first release in the market. I could say I am a late bloomer. It’s been two years since I heard about iPhone, but it’s only now that it caught my interest. That iPhone will remain a wishlist item forever (perhaps) because I can’t still convince myself to work hard for it. What keeps me so disturbed now is my dream point and shoot camera for more than a year. Take note, it has been in my WANT and NEED list and not in my WISHLIST. I need a point and shoot camera for ordinary shooting so I don’t have to bring the DSLR anywhere. It’s so inconvenient to pull out the DSLR every time I want to take a quick snap of something that I find interesting to blog about. Read more… »

Back-up

Back-up time again. I am making a back-up file of the photos saved in the computer so I could delete those that are already uploaded in Flickr® hoping that the PC’s performance would improve if there’s a lot of free disk space already. I wouldn’t push myself to do back-up if there’d be no notification that the free memory space is less than 1 gigabyte. Talk about the great procastinator!hahaha. Burning photos is also a pain because the PC is too slow and one DVD lasts for more than an hour. That is why I almost don’t wanna do back-up of our files because my momentum is interrupted. What a good justification!*lol*

Anyway, based on my Flickr® stats, I’ve already uploaded 18,000++ photos and I am not yet halfway of all our files. Sadly, we don’t have print copies of our photos. I always wanted to have some photos printed so I could frame it but I am too lazy to resize it. I need to resize it to my desired print size so it won’t be cropped when it will come out from the printing machine (because people in photo printing shops are too lazy to resize the photos). Now if I can’t have our photos printed, might as well have a digital frame like the one in the picture so relatives and friends may also see our photos since most of them love to see their faces in the picture. I chanced upon that frame in buy[dot]com and it is so tempting because it is free shipping! Wish I have the funds to purchase that online. :-)
