Shopping is a therapy for women. That’s what I really believed in until I heard a male friend talked about how he shopped for one thing that he really loved – an electric guitar – when he was so stressed with his work being an ophthalmologist in the biggest government hospital in the city. The ladies were all giggling at the fact that he did bought an expensive electric guitar without second thoughts just to make him feel relieved from the stress he is going through that time. This friend, like other gents in our HS class, loves playing with electric guitar so much and could talk about their obsession for hours. I bet our guys find music as their stress reliever and would jump in joy when they see electric guitar for sale at a very low price. So, who told you guys don’t know how to shop when they’re stressed? My friends do! 

Life is indeed a series of stages/phases (I am not pertaining to the biological aspect here but more on the psychosocial). Years ago, I was so addicted to bags. Since I cannot buy everything that I wanted, going around the bags section of the department store (specifically SM City Davao) – looking at every bag and looking at myself in the mirror wearing it is already a therapy. It’s a stress reliever for me! So Ace and I don’t miss those Sunday afternoons at the mall going around from one floor to another, checking every department and stores. During those times that the mall is our favorite place to hang out, we also do our Fashion Walk after work or when we wanted to sport something.LOL.

Lately, we noticed we have passed through the stage of itching to hit the malls anytime we wanted to for a leisurely walk. Weee! Now we go to the mall on purpose and one is to pay bills. We find it convenient to pay bills in SM City Davao – Globe, Sky Broadband, BDO, light, water, and others. So we’re hitting more birds in one stone! Then after paying our bills, we do our grocery shopping and a quick stroll. So that’s how we are spending our time at the malls lately. And we can count with our fingers how many times we hit the mall in a month. If only ach payments is available thru Ace’ bank, then we will most probably be paying bills online through online banking because it’s hassle-free!

I wonder if that “mukhang mall” phase of our life will recur. How about you? Are you still in the “mukhang mall” stage of your life?

Things have come a long way since I got a primitive RC car that had a zillion D batteries and a single button that made the car go in a circle. The latest Radio Controlled car set a record at over 134 mph.

While the fastest RC cars are electric, gas powered cars are the fastest racing cars in lap races lasting up to an hour. If you are not looking for speed but want a replica of a monster truck, motor cycle or certain type of car like Ferrari, Maserati, BMW, Rolls, even stretch limos and SUVs you can check out local hobby stores or online retailers like trendtimes.com or xhobbystore.com. It is important to first determine what your price range is and if you are just using it for fun, or are looking to upgrade and get into actual competitions. It is best to make sure you are getting a car that you can find parts to online. With cheaper RC cars, if one part breaks, you are out of luck. High quality RC cars might be worth the extra price if you consider that you can continuously get new and better parts and customize it at will. Also, most likely only a certain part will wear out or break, and the better quality cars can easily be fixed for long-term use
