Summer Fun

Summer is always marked fun at the beach, time with friends we have not seen for quite sometime, and yes, countless reunions. These parties and get togethers seem to be unending, so it’s expected that most of us gain weight during the summer. Not to mention of course that because of the heat, many of us just indulge in drinking cold drinks, enjoy cold desserts and just spend more time in the malls than usual.

Speaking of reunions, it would be common that we could bring home those custom t-shirts. I think it’s a good idea because every time we wear those, we are always taken back to wonderful memories.

We have a new baby – a Cabbage Patch Kids (CPK) newborn doll that I got from my sister. I fell in love with this little cutie the moment I saw her. Without even consulting Ace, I decided to get it (but it’s not that pricey anyway). Ace also find her so adorable too.

Today we went out to meet a friend who bought a bunch of My Little Pony from my online store. While prepping, I thought of bringing our Cutesy Patootie to the mall so I put her inside my bag…

Sama daw sya! Ayan, pumasok na sa bag ko. and she fits there perfectly!

After we’re settled inside the taxi, I brought out Cutesy Patootie (we don’t have a name for her yet and Ace said why not we call her Cutesy Patootie? Okay. I am not good in giving names so I settled for Cutesy Patootie in the meantime.) and have a photo op. She’s seated between me and Ace. Isn’t she so cute?

Told Ace to carry her and I can’t help but laugh. Look at how he holds Cutesy!

She seems to be enjoying her first taxi ride.

And met friends since my HS years who happened to be the daughters of my late mother’s friend back during her college years.

She’s so behave while we are catching up with each other. Opps….sorry about the penmark! We badly need a new pair of shoes. Smile

Our Cabbage Patch Kids doll - Cutesy Patootie's first day out After a short meet-up, we headed to another mall to buy cloth for my backdrop in taking photos of my “kalakals”. We killed time and roam around the mall then finally headed home. it was drizzling but we still opt to take the jeepney. Luckily, we got a front seat and I was so excited to bring out Cutesy from my bag and took a photo of her for her first jeepney ride.LOL.

It was a great day with Ace and our Cutesy. She’ll be in tow every time we go out starting today.haha. Makes life really FUN! Stay tuned for Cutesy Patootie’s next adventure in the outside world.LOL

It’s December! Before I welcome this new month, I wanted to say “thank you, November!”. I felt like November is my luckiest month this year because I won an iPad2 Wi-Fi 3G from Globe Telecom!

Early last month, we (me and Ace) received separate emails inviting us to join Globe’s Christmas in November with Davao Bloggers. I had second thoughts for some reason but we decided to go after we received a follow-up invite through a text message.

That day we were supposed to attend an event an hour before the Christmas Party but while we are on our way, we received an  a message that it’s cancelled so we have to kill time and tagged along with my sister and BIL instead. As we got off their cab, a rainbow caught my attention.

They say rainbow is a sign of hope. But that is just a plain rainbow for me – that I am usually awed every time I see one because I don’t get to see this often now compared when I was still living in the province that I could see the vast sky anywhere I turn to. I didn’t know that the rainbow I saw is a good sign for me.

An hour after, the gang (my sister, BIL, and their kids) dropped us off at Probinsya Restaurant where the party will be held. It’s too early (the party will be at 7PM and we were already there a few minutes after 6PM) but we decided to just stay at the venue where I could continue reading an ibook in my iPad. Moments later, we were already talking with PR Works and Globe Telecom people! Just a casual talk about corporate work and blogging while waiting for others to arrive.

We had buffet dinner…

Had a good time sharing past experiences. Here we’re walking down memory lane of the games we used to play during our school days.

Then it’s time for the party! Bloggers were grouped into three for the Quiz Night. Unfortunately, I nor Ace wasn’t able to take a photo during the “competition”.

Second runner up for the Quiz Night is team SUPER ONE and they received Php300 worth of Globe prepaid cards.

Globe Telecom executives (except for Sir Art who is in the first picture) flew all the way from Manila for the party and shared the good news about the company’s projects.

The highlight of the event is the raffle draw. Globe Telecom is too generous and gave away a Nokia Cellphone won by Chito De Castro of http://davaobase.com.

An iPhone 3G S won by Brendel Balaga of http://brendelbalaga.com. I badly want the iPhone so when Brendel’s name was called, I lost hope.LOL.

Time for the major prize!

Christmas in November with Davao Bloggers

It’s a 16GB iPad2 Wi-FI 3G!

I told Juy who’s sitting next to me that I am not hoping to win because I am not lucky in raffle draws. Then I heard Brendel said “si Ace madaog ana, si Ace”, I silently pray for Ace to win the iPad2. I know everybody in the room were praying to win the iPad2 but I am crossing my fingers for Ace.

The lucky one was picked…and the winner is….“Cris…”

Christmas in November with Davao Bloggers

I was expecting it to be Christopher Ace because Ace is luckier than me when it comes to raffle draws but it’s CRISLYN! I was speechless. Everybody were shouting and clapping and my mouth was wide open in disbelief. Is it really me? My hands were cold and shaking.

Christmas in November with Davao BloggersAll I could say to the executives of Globe is “thank you” and I can’t even hear my voice then. My lips and cheeks are shaking while I am smiling for a photo. Gosh!

After thirty-two years of existence (yes, my age is something that I don’t keep secret from the public), I now believe that by fate I am not really unlucky in raffle draws. After those years of going home without winning anything in raffle draws, finally it’s my time! Lord didn’t allow me to win those little items before because HE has “planned” something better and bigger for me and HE used GLOBE TELECOM to realize that plan! Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Globe!

Christmas in November with Davao Bloggers

Thank you, GLOBE Telecom for holding a CHRISTMAS PARTY for Davao Bloggers! Everybody had a great time and I must say, I am the happiest that night. Thank you for the Apple iPad2! Ace and I are very grateful!
