It’s been a while since we had a vacation. Our two-day trip to the island nearby is just a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city life so it can’t really be considered a vacation. We do have plans of going on a vacation but we still cannot decide when because we both can’t leave for a week or more from work. Oh well, that’s the downside of being in a rat race! How I wish Ace is not holding a position with an important workload that will hamper the department’s operation should he will be absent for a week or more. Maybe for now that’ll remain in our wishlist – to have a long vacation that we deserve for pushing ourselves too much in order to earn for a living.

Having said that, I am so envious to a friend who just came back from a week’s vacation. I am so happy that she and her husband did find time to take a break from their busy life. Now they’re back with renewed spirits! They hopped from one place to another for the first week of their trip and settled on one of the vacation rentals in California where they spent a week bumming around. How i wish we could also afford that grand vacation. Should we have the chance to go on a vacation, I would sure love to try one of the vacation rentals – for a change. If possible I want a place so conveniently nestled in a nice, tranquil environment and not in a hotel…I want a home away from home! That would be an expensive vacation so we need to work harder for it! For now, we will just be contented with quick beach getaways for that’s what we could easily afford. The grand vacation will happen in the future, keeping my fingers crossed!

More than a month to go and we will be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary. Plans are not yet definite for that day. It’s either we spend a day or two in a beach resort, stay in a hotel or go for an out of town trip. But it’s a Wednesday so we might move our getaway on a weekend so we could spend a day longer wherever our destination may be. Life’s been good to us for the entire year and we’re busy with our jobs so we need that much needed rest and recreation. How we wish to be in an out-of-the country trip but resources are just limited so we might as well enjoy where our pockets could afford.

If HE will be overly generous to us and grant us our wish for a vacation abroad, we will seek the services of Collettevacations.com. They offer escorted tours and tour packagesaround the world and my pick will be one of the europe tours and asia tours. Yes, I want that two and Ace would definitely love that! I am dreaming! Anyway, we need to work harder to pursue that dream vacations. It’s not just vacation actually, because the tours will be quite educational because it is related to culture and special events. What I also look forward is the national parks tours. I love to see the national parks of different places. I really hope this dream will come to a reality one of these days.

Ace will be availing of his 2 week-long vacation leaves this year. The first will be used on summer while the other one for our anniversary. Deciding where to go on summer gave us a headache. With so many places to go, we finally made up our minds and we’re going here!

Guess where’s that. Did I hear Bantayan Island? Yes, you guessed it right! We’re going to Bantayan Island in Cebu! We’ve been hearing a lot about the place and our couple friends recommend it as well (oh, we might be joined by them if their schedule permits). It’s perfect for rest and relaxation because the place is not packed with beach bummers even on peak season. One thing I love on this island is the wide and long stretch of white sand beaches. This place is also perfect for destination weddings because it is secluded like the beaches in Riviera Maya – so perfect and serene for intimate beach-front wedding.

I can’t wait for summer to come!
