So we’re stuck at home for the long weekend. It’s a STAYCATION for all of us since we can’t have a quick trip for we are not observing Philippine Holidays at work. No choice but to work while everybody are having a great time at the beach or anywhere else.

Good thing we were at the beach Sunday before holy week so we don’t feel too deprived of not having a dip in the cool beach water and chilling around in one of our favorite resorts. We had a Team Building in one of the hidden paradise of Samal Island – Hayahay Beach Resort and the whole gang, including Baby Sendong was with us.

For the long weekend, it’s business as usual here at home – me, Ace, Donald, Carol and Che2x working on our workloads. We stocked food last Thursday because stores are closed on Friday. The convenience store near us is packed with shoppers that it seems everybody is panic buying for what they will be bringing wherever they are heading the following day and the next couple of days. For people (including those who are celebrating HOLY WEEK), gone are the quiet days to observe the Lenten Season from Thursday to Friday because they now found a great way to celebrate the Holy week – and that is going to the beach or someplace else and have a family affair to take advantage of the holiday! No doubt, beaches are packed with people during those days!

So it was a STAYCATION for us. Glad we’re not bored (because we’re loaded with work). But hopefully we can make up for our missed beach getaway soon when we’re not that loaded anymore.

An identification card can serve many purposes. For employees, it would serve as a valid ID guaranteeing that they are indeed connected with a certain company. Important transactions such as money transfers or withdrawing cash from the bank would require people to present at least two valid IDs. Identification cards are also necessary when in trips. Some hotels would require an ID from their guests. Travelers should have their Identification cards, aside from their passports handy.

People living in high rise condominiums or apartments are also given one of those HID prox cards. Those who don’t have the card would not gain access to the building, ensuring safety to its residents. Having these cards is very convenient because one does not have to go through clearance with the guard to get in. Residents could easily go in and out of the building anytime of the day without having to be stopped for identification.

Printing ID cards is not that difficult these days. With id card printers, ID cards could be readily available in minutes. Big companies find having their own ID card printers worth the investment because they could just print IDs for their own employees without having to order them from shops. There is a wide range of choices to choose from when you think of buying an id printer. Of course it depends on how many cards you want to print—should you want to make ID printing a business, it would be wise to consult ID card experts on the printer suited for your need.

At such a turbulent economic period in our social history, it is perhaps harder than ever to secure and maintain employment, and so perhaps has never been more topical or appropriate to discuss the world of work and the challenges, but also the rewards of such an extensive environment. Essentially, the world of work requires exploration, and this is the only means by which you will find something you truly love, and truly want to continue. In fact it may have been Confucius who once said: ‘Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work another day in your life’. What a guy. And the more we experience the world of work and those within it ourselves, we can’t help but think, maybe he was right, maybe he was onto something.

Anyway, despite the multiplicity of employment opportunities out there, it is true that there are a record number of people unemployed at present, and so that competition for the job vacancies is limited. This does not mean that the number of vacancies has declined, simply that the number of those competing for these vacancies has increased significantly. So here are some top tips to put you one step ahead of the others and get you that top job, whether it be working in the coffee shop part time, or becoming the head CEO.
