When I chose my course, the work opportunity that I would land to is one thing that I considered the most. I love Biology but what kind of job I would land with? Teaching? Proceed to Medicine and become a Medical Doctor? Aside from those two, I can’t think of other opportunities except if I turn out to be a scientist.*lol*. So I end up with my course because there’s a lot of work opportunities. There’s so many careers waiting for Psych grads but I chose to venture the industrial side and when I got tired of working for other people, I quit my day job.
Now my career plan is to test my forte in culinary arts (but can’t afford it now!). Who knows, it’s my fate to be a chef.

I was visually comparing the barcode scanners and the receipt printers of the two supermarkets that we frequent based on their tape receipts the other day when Ace called from work telling me that he got the wrong work uniform. He was not in uniform the day before so maybe he was thinking Tuesday is brown day, not blue. He has two colors of polo shirt that he wears alternately from Monday to Saturday that until now I cannot just instantly say today is brown without silently counting the days starting from Saturday (Saturday is a blue day – that’s the only day that I memorize by heart.*lol*). So when I saw him in brown polo shirt, I didn’t mind. All the while I thought he’s wearing the right color that he only realized it should be a Blue day when he got to the office and everybody is wearing their blue uniforms! So from now on, I will arrange his uniforms alternately in the cabinet so he will not be lost (like me).

Since I had my mobile working buddy (read: laptop), I seldom use the desktop. But we’re not able to return it to PILs yet because we might need it should I will have a problem with the lappy*knock on wood*. Che2x has the freedom to use it as long as she want but lately, Daddy always bugs her to stop using the desktop. Kill joy Daddy! He’s been telling Che2x not to use it too often because it should be my spare unit in case I can’t work on my laptop. Daddy’s got a point there! I am working online thus I should have a backup unit so work will not be affected should one unit breaks down. He’s just being the boy scout, soldier and cowboy all rolled in one because he was here when the CPU broke last April and I had to borrow FIL’s and my niece’ laptops to be able to work. Anyway, hope our working units will not give up on us especially with the most common problems encountered by desktop owners such as broken power supply and video cards for I can’t live without computer and internet now! I eat and breathe the internet!LOL

For almost two years in the blogosphere, it’s only last month that I was able to understand the concept of social bookmarking sites. I’ve been reading and hearing a lot about it but never tried it so when I got an opportunity that needs social bookmarking, I was excited to learn the trade since many have been claiming it helped in their blog’s traffic. On the other hand, I will hopefully learn the trade of web directory submission with my current assignment with my job so what’s lacking now is reading about SEO so I could use it in my future adsense project. That reminds me of the ebook that’s been sitting in my drawer for months now. Oh, when can have the time to read it? I’m just lazy to flip through the pages, much more reading it. I’ll better find somebody to do a tutorial online for I guess it would be more effective than reading the ebooks.

Ace seemed to be worried that I get bored working from home with the kind of work that is too far from my educational background. Last week he mentioned it again. He was telling me I should continue to hone my skills in HR so I need to find an HR related job. He must have been thinking that my degree is useless if I don’t practice my profession. I actually thought of going back to the industry at one point but the desire suddenly fade that I wanted to stay at home because this is where I belong! If somebody will hire me for a home-based HR job, then I might consider it. Who knows, I might be transferred to HR of DWC after some time. Anyway, that’s just one of Ace’ concern.
Another thing that he wanted me to do is pursue my masters degree. For what? He really thinks that I excel in this field so I must continue learning until I get a post graduate diploma. Good for Ace because he has plans for me when I don’t even care planning for that!LOL. Well, if time and resources would permit, I might get a degree (a second course maybe or pursue my graduate studies) from an online university such as Western Governors Online University. Why Western Governors? Because it is non-profit and affordable than other online universities, and fully accredited of course! If I would go for a second course, maybe an online nursing degree would do if I would have the courage to take health care course (because I am afraid of blood and have phobia of hospitals).

What the….?! I made a post entitled “Busy Month” the other night and it was the time when my host was transferring my account to another server. To complete the process, technical support asked me to change the nameservers to the new one. Then after I published the post (did I really publish it?), I submitted it for verification and received this error “cannot get contents of supplied URL”. I got the same error upon submitting another post from another blog so I asked my host to check on the issue. They told me it may be because the domain is under the process of propagation so I need to wait for 72 hours to complete it. Yesterday, submission of the post for another blog is successful but the one from this blog is still failed. What’s happening? I am suspecting there may be a problem with the transferring of my files to another server but why to this blog only? I got more than a couple of posts submitted from other blogs and all worked well. I reminded myself, “I need to wait for 72 hours”.
After a couple of failed attempts last night, I need to think out of the box so I decided to check on the post this morning and do not wait for 72 hours. Guess what I discovered? No post entitled “Busy Month” was published! It should be the latest post published. Why I didn’t noticed it when I am checking on my blogs from time to time? I am so confident that it was published. If it wasn’t published, it should be under DRAFTS but I can’t find it there. Now that’s the reason why I get the same error over and over again. It’s not because of the transfer of my host’s server and changing of nameserver but because the post really DON’T EXIST. Bummer!
I couldn’t remember the exact words of my “lost post” but it is about recollecting that this was one of the busiest months in my previous job in preparation for the changing of the security agency. It’s a busy month collecting security agencies’ folio that includes their permits, insurance quote or the surety bond; making comparative analysis; attending series of meetings; preparing the contract, doing the orientation to the new guards, etc. That was such a busy life on top of the daily HR duties. However, I love it! Personally I miss it now, I miss being in the limelight!LOL

I badly need some sleep for I felt a little dizzy and like throwing up. Need to exhaust my mind and put it to sleep mode so I could hit dreamland within an hour or so. My eyes and body is giving up but my mind still wanders. I wanted to just forget the things that’s occupying my thoughts so I could finally sleep but I don’t know how. Maybe I’d be counting the stars that I’d be seeing as I close my eyes or better yet the blessings. Haha, that reminds me of the line of the song that goes “when I’m weary and cannot sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep…and I fall asleep, counting my blessings”….so I’ll try that later and see if it’s effective. For now I need to check on that life insurance lead that I should have done earlier. Nope, I am not going to need that insurance lead for our marketing plan…I just need to check it out. It may be a great help in the future.

I don’t understand this. I slept late, errr…actually at dawn (because I need to be working during office hours in the US) then after a few hours I am up again. I was hoping to go back to sleep after Ace left for work but I find myself here in front of the PC, with eyes so sleepy and mind so awake. My work schedule changed due to additional load that was given to me (yay moolah!) but I don’t know how long I can do this. Ace seemed to be not bothered with my work schedule maybe because we don’t have a choice. But for days that I am having 3-4 hours of sleep, I feel like I am floating. I have the whole day to sleep but as much as I want to have a deep sleep, I am always awakened by the neighborhood kids playing outside the compound. I almost want to send them home but I am just extending my patience now and if they do it EVERYDAY, I will really tell them to play in their respective homes and not in the street.
Aside from the kids, sunlight streaming in from the window won’t allow me to have a deep sleep. I need something to simulate night time. Is it time to get blinds or night curtains? Duh, that’s way out of budget this time as we are preparing for a trip. Anyway, I’ll try to get some sleep after this. Wish the night owl some luck!

Back to reality! I’m back from a 3-day trip in Cebu City. Well, it was fun-filled trip though so tiring because I was in so much hurry to jump from one place to another to meet churchmates and friends. First day was purely work-related meetings and I am so glad for the outcome. Mark was able to discuss future marketing plans that we will work on in the coming days. It was actually overwhelming but challenging! Now Mark (as the COO and one of the owner) is travelling from one country to another to visit their people and offices. I am not saying it is too risky for Mark’s safety but I think he needs a key man insurance to protect the business should something happen to him while on a trip or even if he just in his comfort zone (God forbid!). Oh well, it’s better to be prepared than sorry in the end for many families are depending on the company to survive.

I’ll be flying to Cebu City tomorrow for a business trip….just a few hours of meeting with the COO and dinner with the rest of the team then the following day I am free to meet up with friends and churchmates! Yay! I am excited! Everything’s ready, just a few glitch with my luggage bag but it was okay now. I broke the lock so I could use it tomorrow (I’ll make a separate post about that). Anyway, with all my pending online tasks, I will really be working from there for more moolah in preparation for our trip to Metro Manila next month. Please pray for a safe trip.
