Losing seven months worth of posts really scared me to death and almost made my blood pressure shoot up! Though I know it will be restored, I can’t help but worry because I am afraid that an advertiser will contact me and request a refund like what happened to Mommy Arlene. Then I realized it is better to lose personal posts than those that I made money with. Thanks to the ever reliable backup of my hosting company, it’s in their TOS that clients SHOULD be responsible in making their own backups but I haven’t done a backup ever since I started using their services more than two years ago.
What happened made me realize to also backup my computer files especially since I am so dependent on my computer for my work. If my laptop crashes I’d be left with nothing! I think its time I start looking around for a good computer repair company. Just so if I have a problem I will not waste time trying to find someone. There is a Portland computer repair company that services the Portland metropolitan area. They provide some great service options such as remote or onsite services. That is you can choose to have your computer serviced by a remote connection, or they will come to your home to do the repair. I wonder if there are local companies that provide these same options? It is so annoying, especially with desktops, carting them down to a repair place, having them provide affordable onsite service would be a great option to have. The Portland computer support company also promises friendly service and strives to answer all of your questions in a way that you understand. That means they won’t be throwing a lot of computer lingo at you. They will explain the problem and solutions clearly with no “Geek speak.” Their rates are clear and easy for anyone to see. Not like the one time I called a local company to see how much it would cost to have a possible virus infection removed from my computer. He mumbled a few figures and finally said they wouldn’t know until they had done the work. The Portland pc repair company does virus repair on site for $149. and via remote at $129. They also promise that the virus will be removed or you don’t pay. It would be great if one of the local companies modeled their services after this Portland computer repair company, with the clever name of pcmdinc. For now I need to backup my files before I encounter a real problem with my computer and continue my search for a good local PC repair company.
