Life’s Lessons

Last week, Ace was telling me he will treat his Dad today to celebrate his birthday (which is yesterday) and Father’s Day (which he thinks it’s today). So it was absorbed in my subconscious that today is Father’s day. When we woke up this morning, his mind is really conditioned that today is Father’s Day so he texted his Dad, greeting him “Happy Father’s Day” and telling them (PILs) that we’ll treat them to lunch today. Then he made a text brigade to all his colleagues including his superiors that most of them even replied with a big “thank you!”.

While on the way to church building, I was planning to greet my Dad, BIL, some relatives and close friends after the worship service. Before the worship ended, the kids coming from their classes came in with something for their Dads so I was really thinking today is Father’s day. After the worship, I greeted Manong Joey (my cousin) “happy father’s day” and he said “next week pa ah” (it’s next week) and I was a little bit confused. All the while, I and Ace are thinking today is Father’s Day! Soo….it’s not Father’s Day today. Ace was like, “whattt????”…I already texted my colleagues! Hahaha…blooper. Such a blooper! Hence, we cancelled our dinner date (because PILs requested to move it to dinner when they replied to Ace’ text) and move it next Sunday. We’re not actually sure where to bring PILs so I was thinking we might have dinner at home and I will just cook PILs fave – shrimps. But before I could say to Ace what I was thinking, he was already verbalizing what runs in my mind. So, we’re thinking the same thing! Now it’s sure ball, we’re going to have dinner here on Sunday.
