Our life, experiences, and lessons learned

It was a friend’s wedding last Saturday. I am so excited for this event because I’ll be seeing some HS classmates and for sure it will turn out to be a mini reunion. We (I and Ace) really prepared for this event as this will be another photo opportunity and another moment to bond with the FCs (First Class 35). Though Ace has slight fever and headache on that day, he is more than excited to attend the wedding.

If I remember it right, it was almost a month before the wedding when Gizelle (the bride) and I had a chat. They were having problem with the venue because the hotel ballroom where they wanted to hold the ceremony and reception cannot accommodate them on the date that they have chosen for their wedding. I suggested Waterfront Insular Hotel but she has second thoughts because she wanted the venue to be just in the heart of the city and Waterfront is around 15-20 minutes drive from downtown. Anyway, her coordinator was able to book the wedding at Waterfront and so here’s the place!

I personally love this. One of my dream wedding set-up!

While everybody is getting ready for the ceremony (and maybe while waiting for the sun to hide in the clouds which didn’t happen), Ace spotted Gizelle and her groom at the hotel lobby so he grab the opportunity to take portraits of the couple.

The group wouldn’t want to miss this opportunity for a group hug with a decent pose.

On that place where we were standing (above photo), the entourage will pass by us. And we were too excited for the bride to pass by and have her photo taken with us in the background so we called Ace (he’s taking photos of the entourage walking down the aisle that time) to come near us and take photo of Gizelle with us in the background. But the plan didn’t happen because as the bride is walking near us and waiting for the coordinator’s go signal, we ran beside her and Ace kept on clicking the shutter button. Oh my, I forgot that I should be prim and proper this time because I am wearing a dress but look at me!

We’re not done with our photo session yet when the coordinator called Gizelle for the most-awaited bridal march and with just a split of a second, we were back to our spot as if nothing happened.

See our friend, she’s so beautiful!

and we’re still on our spot watching as Gizelle’s parents gave her hand to Carlo…

until we decided to drag some chairs into the shade while the ceremony is ongoing while others decided to watch the ceremony from the garden tent where the reception will be held.

After the ceremony, photo session started and we are getting impatient for our group to be called. FC 35 (our HS class) and ULS-USM batch 1996 (our HS batch) is last on the list and Gizelle did the right thing because we are all camera whores! If other groups had only 1 photo taken, ours are countless but here’s some of those group hugs…

You think we’re done? Not yet! We even went near the beach and did some wacky pose.

During the reception, the guys pinned money during the prosperity dance and as they stood from their table, one of them asked where’s Ace. Why? Because they wanted to have their photo taken with the couple again.

and before the reception ended, here’s our last two photos…

My, we’re already in our 30′s and nothing has changed since we were in high school. We are still the same camera sucker as before. I would love to think that even if we grow old, even if some of us are already suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and other illnesses due to aging, we will still be the same old camera whores that started the addiction 18 years ago. Our group consists of medical doctors, veterinary doctors, dentist, engineers, nurses, businessmen, domesticated divas (in which I belong) and other professions but we seemed to be behaving like we’re still in high school when we’re with the group. We doesn’t seem to care what others are thinking about us. Who cares? We’re enjoying!LOL

Our classmates who didn’t make it to the wedding were too envious of the fun that we had and we are looking forward for another get-together soon. By the way, thanks to Ace for taking the photos despite of his fever and headache.
