I think I forget to blog about our eyeglasses. Yes, we (both Ace and I) have a new pair of eyeglasses now. For me this is my 3rd pair since 2003 while this is Ace’ first. It has been my plan to have my eyes checked for my last check up was 3 years ago. We were in NCCC Mall the other Sunday for our usual malling after worship service. No concrete plan of having a check up on that day. Since there’s nothing much to see in the mall, I went to check for frames at Executive Optical. The lady was so accommodating. Had she only knew that I am just checking for a nice frame so I could go back next time to get a pair of eyeglasses, she would not accommodate me trying almost every frame that I think would look nice to me. I think I got more than 40 frames tried on until the lady said I need to try on the frames for teenagers because its smaller than the regular frames. True enough, it fits perfectly to me. I had my eyes checked afterwards. Then Ace, who is just accompanying me and is interested in getting a sunglasses was forced to have his eyes checked after so much prodding from me and the sales lady. Turned out, Ace’ eyes is more damaged than mine! Mine remained at -50 from the last check up 3 years ago while Ace’ was at -50 and +25 (so that’s 75?) for both eyes. According to the optometrist, Ace has a remarkable astigmatism while mine is just mild. Anyway, after the check up, Ace was forced to pick his frame because he really need to wear eyeglasses now. I had a Hello Kitty frame (yes, Hello Kitty from Sanrio®) and Ace picked a frame by Columbia® eyewear that cost around $230 for the 2 complete sets of eyeglasses. Hence, our shopping allowance and food trip allowance were diverted to the purchase of eyeglasses.
On the way home after the check-up, I was telling Ace if only the sales lady isn’t too accommodating, we wouldn’t end up with that huge expense!LOL She was the sweetest attendant I have ever seen and I would feel ashamed going out of the store without getting something (that’s one of my weakness). But anyway, it’s for our own good so I don’t mind paying that much because I and Ace are both using our eyes to work and of all our sense organs, it is the most used, most exploited.
Anyway, after days of waiting for my salary so we could pick up the eyeglasses (and Ace is so excited to get his), we were able to get it last Saturday. The pleasing sales lady then offered to take a photo of us with our additional 4 eyes. So now we have eight eyes. *lol*
I forgot to tell the lady to focus on us so we ended up out of focus while the focus is on the background.
