After weeks of prodding from Ace, I finally decided to see my dermatologist who happened to be Ace’ derma also. We waited for hours just to be checked for around 10 minutes. The wait was too long because one of the doctor’s assistant seemed to be out of her mind that she didn’t care to look at the list of patients. We were told to wait for their text message but we opt to just stay at the clinic and waited for our turn there. Sadly, after four hours, we’re not called. When I heard that the doctor has appointment at 5PM (and it’s 10 minutes before 5 that time), I told Ace to follow-up why are they not calling us yet. Turned out, the absent-minded assistant didn’t know that they still have patients waiting for hours! It’s our fault that we didn’t followed-up earlier, but it should be the assistant’s job to check the list of patients and call each one for the schedule, right? Oh, well…her focus is just out of this world. If not only because of the other doctors’ assistants who apologized in behalf of the inefficient personnel there, I would really argue with that poor girl. Good thing I am not impatient yesterday.
Anyway, the check-up was just brief. Ace was so amazed that Dra. Serrano still remembers the last time that she checked Ace for same reason – allergy due to the steel toe shoes he’s wearing – 6 years ago. He didn’t know that Dra. Serrano was referring to the medical records that he has in that clinic.LOL. After the check-up, we went straight to the hospital’s pharmacy to buy the prescribed medicines. I was thinking we would only spend one thousand five-hundred so imagine our shocked faces when we heard the cashier telling me I have to pay three thousand six hundred eight pesos (PhP3,608.00). That’s a huge amount! Including the consultation fee (that’s more than twice the price since I had my last check-up there), we spent almost five thousand pesos! It hurts! Thanks to Ace’ employer that he can reimburse the medicine expenses and portion of the consultation fee. If not, oh no, that’s a big slice from our monthly budget. We might not be eating for a month and stomach fat loss won’t be a problem then…but we would end up having ulcer!hahaha. It is just so expensive to be sick! That’s only a dermatitis, how much more those more serious cases?
