In the midst of quiet and peaceful afternoons (that if the noisy neighbor are taking their nap), the relaxing sound of the wind chimes hanging by the two corners outside the house is what keeps my spirit calm. I didn’t know we’ll get to like having a wind chime until one incident few years ago (at PILs rented house) that kept me, Ace and my sister Che2x awake the whole night.
I was awakened in the middle of my sleep and found Ace so cold and as stiff as a corpse. My heart stopped beating at that instant! I thought he was dead so I shook him so hard. He was groaning. When he opened his eyes, he was murmuring and threatening “somebody” while he is staring at the window in front of him. He was so furious! I know he’s half-awake that time so I shook him again. Then he calmed down. He told me he saw a man’s profile (in pure black) standing in the corner of our room (next to the window) and another human profile outside the window.
Oh my goodness! Goosebumps!! It’s around 2AM that time. I thought of Che2x who’s sleeping in the other room so I told Ace we should check her. When I knocked at her door, I was surprised that she answered immediately. She told us she can’t sleep. She was also awakened in the middle of her sleep and can’t go back to sleep. We let her sleep with us in our bed. She was positioned beside the window (adjacent to the window where Ace saw the human profile) then me in the middle and Ace on the other side of the bed. The three of us are occupying just half of the bed because Che2x won’t move near the window.LOL. After almost two hours of talking about the incident, we were able to sleep. Thank goodness!
The next morning, I kept myself busy researching about what we can do to shoo away the “bad elements” that may be staying with us in the house. I found out that the sound of wind chimes and even door chimes is good to keep those negative elements away. I don’t really believe in Feng Shui but I was convinced it is worth a try. Wind chimes should be placed by the window, according to what I have read. So off we went to the mall and bought a small wind chime.
When we moved to the apartment, we brought the wind chime but we just kept it. Then later on I got tired of hearing the loud voices of the neighbors so I told Ace I want to have another wind chime to at least mum the noise. We bought two bigger wind chimes at the mall and hang it by the front corner of the apartment where the wind will blow from three directions. Then another chime was placed at the back area. It feels good to be listening at the sound of the chimes while working or even if I am just lazily sitting at the sofa. Now that we moved, we still take the chimes with us and hand it by the corners of the house. Listening to the sound is soothing. It feels like a soothing music that would sometimes put me to sleep especially if the wind is continuously blowing that makes the chime produce a relaxing sound.
Don’t have wind chime or door chimes in your homes? Have one and you’ll surely love the relaxing sound it produces.
