Security checks

The incident in one of the big malls in the country’s capital was on the headline for days. It was a shooting incident inside the mall that killed 2 people. The woman was able to bring a gun inside the mall and shot his ex-husband and incidentally shot the security guard who is trying to save her from committing suicide. Such a tragic and sad incident. How come the gun wasn’t detected by a metal detector (if there is any) at the entrance door? Did the guards on duty checked the woman’s bag upon entering?

Since the incident happened inside a mall that is supposed to be a safe place because of security checks before one can enter the area, people might not be complacent of the security in any malls now. Malls and other establishments might be implementing a tighter security check now and their security guards might now be equipped with the best metal detectors, have undergone another round of security training, or even more strict checking the bags and body frisking. It takes a little patience on the part of mall goers, but for the sake of everybody’s safety, I hope all will submit themselves to security checks.

Haven’t been to the mall since this incident happened. Let’s see what security changes has been implemented when I and Ace will visit the mall anytime this week.
