My first entry for Looking at the Sky on Friday meme for this year.
This is the normal view numerous times a day from our apartment.
When we were living with PILs in their rented house a kilometer away from the Davao City International Airport, we could hear the roaring sound of the aircraft during landing and take off but not too loud ‘coz we could still hear other sound. We used to see aircraft passing by the house but it is hundreds of feet up in the sky not as close as the one in the photo.
Then we moved to an apartment early last year near downtown area (which is more than 10 kilometers from where we used to live). To our surprise, we are on the exact landing and takeoff path of the aircrafts that we cannot even hear each other when there’s a plane passing by the rooftop. The living room would even get dark for a few seconds when the aircraft passes under direct sunlight. So that’s how we could see the aircrafts passing by us every single day. But it’s only last month that Ace was able to take a photo of an aircraft preparing to land. I think that’s Philippine Airlines because it’s not colorful (oh well, I like Cebu Pacific’s aircraft because of its bright color).

I think Joe and the kids would LOVE IT if they got to see planes that close all the time.

absolutely! during our first months here, the dogs would even look up when they hear the plane.LOL
