I was looking for something in YouTube when I remember to watch John Ray’s music video that Ace and I loved watching over and over again. John Ray (John Rey Pagalan) was his roommate in Narra cottage in Silliman University and parted ways after college years. They lost contact since then and after more than a couple of years, Ace saw John Ray perform with Nyoy Volante in a morning show in ABS-CBN. Months before our wedding, we find ways to contact John Ray and after a couple of emails to Nyoy’s manager, I’ve got no reply. However, if there’s a will, there’s a way so I didn’t stopped from searching where I could get John Ray’s contact number or even just an email address. Then finally, a big fan of John Ray’s music was able to read my query in a mailing list and gave me John Ray’s contact details.
Ace requested him to play sax during our wedding ceremony. Despite of his busy schedule with upcoming shows in Manila, he made himself available for our wedding…for FREE!!! Yay! So he flew from Manila to be our musician and wedding singer at the same time. Yes, he was our saxophonist, pianist and vocalist during the ceremony and reception (with the help of my little cousin who also sang. Ace and I are so lucky to have him during the very special moment of our life and that special moment was even made more special by John Ray’s music.
Now we are looking forward to see him perform on stage here in Davao (and I hope that would be soon) or if we get the chance to fly to Manila, we will definitely watch one of his shows.
