Our weekend memoirs: First weekend with our Canon 400D
Posted on Jan 11, 2010 under our weekend memoirs | 4 CommentsMy first time to join this meme that is hosted by blogger friends. I’ve been meaning to join months before but I just don’t know where to start. We got thousands of photos taken during weekends and I don’t wanna miss posting a thing (that kept joining this meme at bay). Anyway, I decided to start with photos taken right after we got our DSLR.
Our Canon 400D was purchased (through MIL’s credit card) May 17, 2008 (that is Saturday). The following day, we attended the christening of Ace’ HS batchmate’s second daughter at Assumption Parish. We were so excited for this event because we have a new camera! It is our first ever camera so just imagine the excitement.
Learning the tricks in using the DSLR in full manual mode is not rocket science, at least for me and Ace. To be safe, we set the camera to full auto mode (like using a point-and-shoot!) just to make sure we’ll get decent photos.
Anyway, here’s the batchmates – batch ’94 of John Bosco School (a La Salle supervised school in Mangagoy, Surigao del Sur)
After the christening, we had buffet lunch at Probinsya – a taste of home.
Ace and Jomar were amazed that they are wearing the same brand and design of Nike shoes. What a coincidence!
After lunch, we went to the nearby bank for Ace needs to get money from the ATM. While waiting for him outside the ATM booth, I spotted yellow love birds in a cage near the entrance of the restaurant nearby so here’s my very first snap of a critter inside a cage. So glad I have read tips on shooting critters in a cage from the manual the night before.
That’s our first weekend mem’ries with our Canon 400D. How about yours?

Good luck with your Canon.
