Renewal of vows

So I’ve posted about a friend’s wedding last week. It was such a nice wedding by the beach! Not so much like the destination weddings you will have when you choose one of the Karisma Hotels in Riviera Maya but it is nice! I personally like the setting. I even told Ace if we’ll have a renewal of vows in the future, I want it outdoors…by the beach or in the garden full of flowers! I am imagining myself walking on the sand. Gosh! I am not yet over with my dream wedding that until now I am always thinking of it. A friend actually told me to do renewal of vows for the sake of fulfilling my dream wedding and I am open to that idea, so is Ace. If that would happen, it would be a super intimate one with only family, close relatives and friends will be present. No concrete plans for that yet, let come what may.

It was a friend’s wedding last Saturday. I am so excited for this event because I’ll be seeing some HS classmates and for sure it will turn out to be a mini reunion. We (I and Ace) really prepared for this event as this will be another photo opportunity and another moment to bond with the FCs (First Class 35). Though Ace has slight fever and headache on that day, he is more than excited to attend the wedding.

If I remember it right, it was almost a month before the wedding when Gizelle (the bride) and I had a chat. They were having problem with the venue because the hotel ballroom where they wanted to hold the ceremony and reception cannot accommodate them on the date that they have chosen for their wedding. I suggested Waterfront Insular Hotel but she has second thoughts because she wanted the venue to be just in the heart of the city and Waterfront is around 15-20 minutes drive from downtown. Anyway, her coordinator was able to book the wedding at Waterfront and so here’s the place!

I personally love this. One of my dream wedding set-up!

While everybody is getting ready for the ceremony (and maybe while waiting for the sun to hide in the clouds which didn’t happen), Ace spotted Gizelle and her groom at the hotel lobby so he grab the opportunity to take portraits of the couple.

Big day

Last Saturday we attended a grand wedding of a friend held at the gazebo of Waterfront Insular Hotel. It was grand and elegant, at least for me, and I am happy to see a friend having her dream wedding. A week before the wedding, I was able to talk to the couple about their expenses and I wasn’t surprised to know how much they have cashed out for their big day. Judging from the venue, it was really that expensive so it was not a surprise if they have to spend more than twice of our expenses more than two years ago. Other details of the wedding elegant and of course, pricey so that also explains why the said wedding is really expensive!

the aisle

Is that how expensive to tie the knot these days? Oh well, it’s one in a lifetime moment so couple are so willing to spend that much for a one day affair. The fact of life is, there are two events that people spend so much on…the wedding and funeral. If people are willing to spend hundreds of thousands for a grand wedding, there are also those who are willing to spend much more than that for funeral costs especially those who have more than what they have.

Anyway, photos from the wedding coming up next. I am still in the process of uploading it to flickr®. Stay tuned!

Another one

So tempted to get another domain. Whatttt? Another domain? I almost can’t find time to update all my blogs and here I am thinking of getting another one? Talk about maximizing my online income. One of the hardest part in getting a domain is thinking of a catchy domain name. I want this domain to bare it all. I mean, it should sound like the theme of my blog like carinsurancelist.com. When you encounter that domain, you would definitely think that the website is all about car insurance. Since that’s what I wanted, then I think I need a couple more days of brainstorming. Yes, brainstorming alone!LOL. I’ll better ask Ace’ idea about this. Maybe his neurons will work and will not just give me an “it’s up to you” answer.

Not sure if I was able to mention about the FREE mouse pad that ArtsCow gave away early last month. I and Ace was able to avail of it but only mine made it here. Ace’ mouse pad was addressed in his workplace and the postman must have been lost or the mouse pad was lost.LOL

Anyway, here’s the free mouse pad that I got from ArtsCow. Yes, it’s 100% free! Ella must have been amazed when she first saw it under my lappy’s mouse and she showed it to Carol. Carol told her to put it back thinking that it was a photo print.hehe.

The mouse pad is so nice. Not the usual mouse pad that is too stiff. It’s soft and seems like made of pure soft rubber.

Love it! I hope ArtsCow will give away free mouse pads again or any deals of the day and I will definitely grab the opportunity. I’ve actually shared it to some FB friends but I don’t know if they were able to get theirs.

Thanks, ArtsCow! You never fail to amaze me with every product that you send my way.

Family reunion

I have a long list of all the things and happenings that I should blog about but lazy bug always hit me everytime I plan to post about it. Anyway, last December we had a reunion. Our relatives from Kabacan drove to the city, spent a day at the beach and spent the night at our cousin’s house. However, not everybody was able to make it.

Anyway, here’s some of the photos of Inang and Tatang’s(+) treasure, their grandchildren and great grandchildren….

the two “olds” in the last photo are our aunt and aunt-in-law.

That didn’t make half of our total number. I guess that’s only a quarter of the gorgeous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Different faces, different complexions, different body builds. Some are fair some are dark. Some are flawless some needs tretinoin. Some are tall, some are petite (in which I belong!). Anyway, I am looking forward for another reunion on Tatang’s death anniversary on April. I hope those who weren’t able to make it to the reunion last December will be able to make it then.

Sick Ace

Ace is sick and he lost his appetite. I found it hard to feed him because he’s not eating a lot. The food tastes balnd for him. For almost two days of no proper eating, I noticed he lost weight. That easy? Gaining weight for him takes a lot of time and now losing what he gained is so quick. I want Ace to gain weight so he won’t be that skinny but not to the point that he would need fat burners for men. Just additional mass on his body is enough so he won’t look like he’s being on a diet always.

For lunch he requested for a fried dried fish. Thanks goodness he ate more than what he’s been taking since yesterday. Hope his appetite will be back to normal and he will be well soon because we’ll be attending a wedding tomorrow. We both don’t wanna miss that big event!

Perfect timing

Another motto that I and Ace are living with now is “there’s a time for everything”. You see, we aren’t into saving much this time because we are still in the stage of personal gratification aside from our monthly financial obligations. I was concerned about this one time so I told him (in a worried manner) “we aren’t saving” and he immediately replied “there’s a time for that. For now let’s just enjoy the fruit of our labor”. Exactly! Let’s enjoy life! Coming from my husband’s mouth who is such as worrier for the future? He must have changed his paradigm. That made me think, it’s ok to shop!LOL. We are taking turns in spoiling each other and we both love it! Hence, there’s always time for everything.

A time to shop and a time to save

A time to enjoy life and a time to worry about the future

A time splurge on things and a  time to buy gold bullion for investment

A time to sow and a time to reap the rewards of what we sow.

Truly, things in life has its own perfect timing. Life is great only if you know how to enjoy the moment and not focus on worrying about what we will eat tomorrow, in short, trust in HIM.

Ms. Universe 1994

I miss my HS Days a lot! Time for crushes, puppy love, fling, mutual understandings, food trips, house crashing, group study, swimming at the nearest swimming pool, road trip to the nearby town to eat “buko”, etc…etc. It’s also the stage where most are dealing with skin problems such as blackheads or worst, pimples or acne aside from the heartbreak caused by our crushes.

It is during HS when our camera whoring days (and until now) started. This is one of the hundreds (or thousands perhaps) of photos we have during our HS days taken during one of our swimming trips in 1994 when Ms. Universe is the craze (because the pageant was held in the country) thus our pose says so. Feeling contestants! How I wish we could go swimming as often as we can now.

Growing old together

Not all couples are growing old happy and inseparable. If there’s one couple that I admire for that, it’s my parents-in-law. For more than nine years that I have known them, they’re always together. Happy together despite all odds. A great example of living by the marriage vow “in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, till death do us part”. If you just listen to their stories, it’s full of wisdom and in their lives you will learn a lot especially in dealing with married life.

IMG_5953

I am so blessed to have married a man who have grown by their teachings and their example. My husband may not be perfect but I can see the values that was instilled in him. Hence I may not need the best eye cream for wrinkles in the near future because my husband is not giving me reason to be unhappy (read: unhappiness=more wrinkles). I can see we will grow old like DadMa, happy together.

Aside from the values that our lifetime partner has, the secret of having a good husband is being a good wife. As the old saying goes, “you reap what you sow”. Hence, a good wife makes a good husband.
