Our life, experiences, and lessons learned

Last New Year was the first time that none of us went home to Kabacan to celebrate with our relatives. We decided to celebrate it here in Davao for a change. Weeks before, I can see we’re going to the beach but still undecided where (for sure it’s going to be a white-sand beach do we’re going Samal Island or Talicud. Budget is tight that I was relying on my 13th month pay to cover the expenses. It was released before Christmas but since it was deposited to our neighbor account who is in vacation, I wasn’t able to receive the money until the 30th. Whew! I thought we wouldn’t make it to the beach! When money is secured, we decided where to go. First choice is Isla Reta in Talicud Island but when I called the resort in-charge for booking of cottages, she said they’re fully booked because there will be a wedding to be held there on the first. My kind of wedding! Isla Reta is suitable for Destination Weddings because it is a secluded white-sand beach with crystal blue water. So heavenly! It can be considered the Riviera Maya of Davao because of the serene environment that is great for private and intimate weddings.

Anyway, back to our beach getaway, we went to Paradise Island Park and Beach Resort instead. Among the beaches that can be easily reached in Samal Island, we preferred Paradise because we can stay overnight by the beach for a minimal amount. Our new year experience at the beach was so fun and we are looking forward for another new year’s celebration at the beach next time.
