Our life, experiences, and lessons learned

We will miss you, Puto

We were out for days and left the dogs with enough food and water. When we got home yesterday afternoon, we found out Puto is dead. Sadness!

Puto is one of our oldest dog. I guess he’s 6 years old (based on human age). When a dog at my grandparents’ place gave birth years ago, Mamang decided to send the cutest puppy here so he could have a “better life”. I could remember bringing Puto to Davao with us after our holy week vacay in Kabacan. It was the last short stay in Kabacan that Mamang was still alive. Weeks after that, Mamang got seriously ill and she passed away soon enough. Because of how Puto ended up in our care, he is one of the most special because of Mamang.

Indeed, Puto is one of the lucky dogs because Ace was able to feed him and Maya with dog food ever since. He became Ace’ favorite…and playmate too. He may be domineering but he is sweet…and the cutest dog we ever had!

We are still grieving for the loss of our cutest Puto. We will be forever thankful for 6 long years of companionship and for guarding us and our house. Nothing could ever repay the joy and headaches he has brought us.

Rest in peace, PUTO. You will surely be missed!

Getting a Leash from Ruff Wear

Many are saying we have spoiled dogs. Yes, our guard dogs (that we consider pets) are lucky they have us and in the same way we are lucky to have them too. They’re our source of fun and stress. Fun because Ace used to de-stress from work playing with them. Stress because we are spending for their dog food unlike other guard dogs that were fed from table food leftovers.

Maya looks like a service dog had she has a bigger built. She’s the most tamed and the most composed among our dogs like the Service dogs we have seen in airports. Ace loves the Service Dog Vest that he has seen once and was even thinking of getting one for his fave “pet”. It’s not readily available in pet shops and pet supplies store so he wasn’t able to buy Maya a vest. If he’ll get to know about PetJoy – the maker of working dog gears, he will definitely bug me to get our dogs something. A dog vest might not be perfect for them because we’re not usually bringing them out but a Hoopie collar by Ruff Wear would be the perfect gift for them. This is great when we walk the dogs (hopefully we could!).

If you also have pet dogs or Service Dogs, check out PetJoy and get something for them and you’ll absolutely love them for the free shipping they offer on orders over $99 .

It is really obvious that the brown puppy is bigger…so much bigger than her age I guess.
