To the C.R.!
A gun fired successively as I sat down in front of the PC the other afternoon. I just came in from taking snaps of the euphorbia flowers outside. At first I thought it was just a firecracker. But after 3 fires, I realized it’s from a gun. Since I grew up in the battle ground of Cotabato province, I am familiar with the sound of a gunfire when somebody was hit by the bullet. When the gun shots reached more than five and it seems it’s moving towards the direction of our place, I began to panic. What will I do? What if two groups are firing their guns and they will come in the house? What if I will be hit by the stray bullet? Holding on the DSLR, I crawled to the comfort room and stayed there for a couple of minutes. That was my initial reaction. I didn’t ran to lock the door first. I just have to hide in a secure place that bullet cannot penetrate. The last gunshot was fired really near us. Puto and Maya were barking hard after hearing it. When firing stopped, I went out and asked the people outside what happened though at the back of my mind somebody was hit. True enough, a man was killed from the incident. The victim was shot while on standby in a waiting shed near the subdivision’s entrance. He managed to run but the oppressors were so quick and sharp to aim the gun towards him. Hence, he died on-the-spot. I will be posting about the details of the incident next time as I am too sleepy already.
