Kadayawan sa Davao Floral Float Parade
Last Sunday was the Floral Float Parade. We are supposed to shoot in the parade but we woke up late. Hence, I decided we’d take our time as we still have chance to take photos of the floats after the parade. The parade was already finished when we arrived in downtown so we headed to People’s Park where it will be parked based on the map the Kadayawan committee have distributed. While we were walking to People’s Park, I am putting on some sunblock as I was sunburned from our Indak2x shoot. I was wondering why their isn’t any float parked inside so I asked the traffic police where are the floats. The police said it’s in Rizal Park so we walked again to Rizal Park under the heat of the sun. We cannot open our umbrella as the roads are jump-packed with people. No float parked in the area so we asked another police where are the floats. He said it was parked at the back of the City Hall. I overheard people asking where are the floats but we didn’t get sane answer. Again, we asked another police but I was answered “I don’t know”. Gee! I wanted to blurt out ”how come you don’t know when you are supposed to be the right person people should ask to for directions”. Hmmppp…I wanted to rant about my experience during the Kadayawan but I would post that separately. Anyway, as I and Ace are going around Osmeña Park, a fellow FPS member said the floats are in SM City and NCCC Mall.
After lunch, we went to SM City but I guess we are too late because only 7 floats were left. It was 1PM and the sun is shining directly on us but we didn’t bother the scorching heat. Ace was busy taking photos while I was busy calling on Security Guards to watch over the floats because people have been harvesting what they can carry from the floats be it flowers, potted plants, fruits, etc. Gosh! I was really pissed! These people must not have some manners (will be posting about that later).
Carol wanted to see some photos of the Floral Float so here it is. Also, this is for Sissy Arlene who missed the Kadayawan. Hope you’ll all be here next time.
