Claypot
Yipeee!!!! Got my EON card already. After more than an hour waiting to be entertained in the bank, at last I got hold of it. While waiting, I’ve been praying that my ID’s will be honored. I only have 1 ID bearing my new family name. My SSS and other ID’s bear my maiden name. At least the bank teller is kind enough to consider my ID’s.
After getting my card, I went to the bakeshop to buy bread for snacks and I accidentally bumped into a “kababayan” back home. I was surprised when he smiled at me and I asked him if he still remembers me. He answered with a big grin “of course!”. It’s been 13 years to be exact since the last time we saw each other (I was a Junior HS then). But he has known me since I was in grade school. We usually met during Science Quiz Bees, Science Camps, Science Fairs and other projects sponsored by DOST (Dept. of Science and Technology). Guess what made me really registered in his memory is that he is the quiz master during the 1st Regional Science Quiz on the Air held at the DOST Regional Office in ORC Compound, Cotabato City. I was in 6th grade then and was one of the representatives of our division (North Cotabato). I almost wasn’t able to join the contest since they only require 2 representatives from each division and at division level, I ranked 3rd. Automatically, I shouldn’t be eligible to join the regional level. Since the rules for the said event is not clearly discussed beforehand, my coach requested that I’d be considered. Also, the mother of the 1st placer in our province who came from Midsayap (another town in the province) insisted that I should join. During the event, everybody seemed nervous. I felt I was floating in the air. Luckily, I was not eliminated in the 1st two rounds and 2 of us (I and the student from Midsayap) reached difficult round. Tie-breaking moments made me really nervous….so as everybody. I could imagine how nervous Mamang is while listening to the radio. I could not recall how many tie-breaking questions was thrown to us but what registers in my mind is my winning answer…. CLAYPOT. Before the contest started I spent an hour or two in the library of DOST and I have read about medicinal plants, especifically Lagundi being concucted in a CLAYPOT for optimum result of the medicinal plant’s healing properties.
Anyway, so much for the claypot. While on my way home, I was thinking maybe Sir Sales can still recognize me because I still remain cute. Barely a few inches was added to my height since I graduated in elementary and/or, I still look like then. I mean, only subtle changes in my facial features. Well, will ask him next time.*lol*
