Sky Watch Friday #11

Thanks God it’s Friday! Time to sit down and see how beautiful the skies in different places are. My sky watch photo was taken the other Sunday. My first sunset shoot with hubby at SunCity. We went home immediately after the worship service, had an afternoon nap and walked to my favorite sunset spot. It is hubby’s first time there for a sunset shoot and he did enjoyed it though it is not a very warm, colorful and dramatic sunset…just a little hue of red in the clouds when Mr. Sun finally rest for the day.

Red streaks after the sunset

My new work schedule allows me to have a walk to my favorite sunset spot…the Suncity’s entrance (it’s a nearby subdivision and a couple of hundred meters away from our place). Yesterday afternoon I had another “me and nature” time. I was able to watch a breathtaking sunset. After the sun has gone down, I was set to go home but when I glanced back in the west, a beautiful reddish clouds is spread in the sky. Continue Reading »

Sky Watch Friday: Golden Sunset

Sky Watch Friday: Golden Sunset

Sky Watch was Dots great idea

One of my favorite day…Friday! Because I have to showcase my photos of my favorite wonders of nature….sunrise or sunset. Anyway, had a walk to the nearby subdivision to watch for the sunset and have a photo shoot of course. I am still newbie in this hobby so bear with my shots. No post processing done with the photo, I just resized it and embed our photoblog’s url. More of my sunset photos here.

Visit Tom’s blog for more sky watchers. Happy SW everyone!

Afternoon walk and photo ops

Afternoon walk and photo ops

For 2 consecutive days, we are asked to log out from our shift earlier than usual because the number of captchas in the qeue is not proportional to the number of coders. To me it’s an advantage because I can attend to my pending tasks. But instead of doing the laundry or updating my blogs, I decided to have a walk at SunCity’s entrance and have a sunset photo session. The first day that I was off early, I immediately prepared my gear, change my clothes and off I went to my destination. The sun is about to set so I had a short walk around the road’s island and find the best spot for the shoot. The DSLR was set to save images in RAW format so I ended up taking only 97 shots for the 1GB memory card. I am not yet done with the sunset shoot when the memory card was full so I deleted some of the photos and continue shooting which reminded me of the plan to get another memory card. I had a hard time choosing which one to delete so I really need another CF card this time. The sunset was so nice but it would be more beautiful taking it in the beach so that the horizon is clear….without obstructions. Anyway, it’s my first sunset shoot so I just enjoyed the moment while experimenting on the different white balance, ISO and exposure settings. What I have in mind is Mommy Lou’s advise….just click the shutter and worry about the result later.

Relax in a hammock chair

It’s been days since I had my last relaxaton time outside looking at my plants. I don’t have other things to look at in here. I tried to take snaps of the sky many times but it’s all the same. The coconut trees and the bananas are blocking the view. I don’t know who planted the bananas in the vacant lot and it grew tall that I cannot see the sunset. It was supposed to be a good view from here because our place is above sea level and no strutures blocking the sunset view…only the bananas.*sigh*. With the coconuts, it’s blocking a good view of the sky from afar. I cannot see the cloud formations. All I can see is the clouds just above me. Hence, this limits my chance of practicing with the DSLR. Thus I turned out to be a macro shooter with the Euphobia flowers. But they are not in bloom now.*pout* Anyway, I could get a good view of the sunset in the nearby subdivision’s entrance. But I have to walk a couple hundreds of meters and if I’m off from OHJ at 6PM and head to SunCity, the sun must have set by the time I reach there. Whereas if I take it from our place, I could just ask for a 2-3 minutes break, go out and take a quick snap.

Well, I wanted to cut the bananas and leave the coconuts because it gives us shade and fresh air. It’s nice to have a hammock chair under those trees, actually. A nice and cool place to relax.
