It’s vacation time in the most part of the world while here in the Philippines, classes have just started. Vacation here starts in March and ends in May. That’s what we call summertime here. When I was a kid, that’s the time I am looking forward to every year because I can sleep longer *grin*, I can play with the neighborhood kids, and the possibility of going to Daddy’s hometown. I like it when we’re going to Pagadian City because the beach is so near. Tatay’s house is overlooking the city and the beach. I bet Mamang also liked it there because she can eat her favorite…shrimps! Seafoods there are very cheap compared in our hometown. Hmmm…it’s self explanatory. Prices of seafoods in Kabacan are higher compared in Pagadian City because we are located in the middle of the island. Hence, traders need to travel 2-3hrs to reach us. By that time, fishes are not that fresh except for the freshwater fish that are being harvested in nearby towns.
Opppssss…..I’m getting off the topic already. Back to my topic. I am planning of going on a weekend getaway (I cannot call it vacation) for our 1st wedding anniversary. Don’t tell hubby about that, huh? This is just between you and me.*wink*. Yes, I am now in search of possible place where we can spend our wedding anniversary on August. I wanted to have it out of town but I am not sure if Ace’ schedule will allow us to be out for 2-3 days. My first option is to have an overnight stay in a beach somewhere in Samal, or in Talicud Island. But the problem is, the contact to the resort. Some of the nice places in Samal are not in the directory yet. Hence, I am being left with a handful of resorts most of which are very commercialized. I wanted a more private place so I need to search more. I wish finding and booking for a stay is as easy as booking in a hotel with a hotel anywhere in United Kingdom or in Australia. Well, I still have a few weeks to scout for a nice place. If not, I would go for the first option…which is, SECRET! Will reveal it next time.*wink*

Our vacation in Camiguin Island last month was one of the great adventures we had as a couple. That vacation was not planned well that we went there without even any idea where to stay. Hence, we spent almost two hours looking for a nice and affordable resort. We had so much fun and we are looking forward to have another vacation soon. Actually, we are planning to have it within the country but I would love to consider a vacation outside the country. Sounds great! That if, we’ll be capable of having it abroad. Anyway, vacation abroad needs a more detailed preparation especially in accommodation and transportation for our convenience. Considering the hassle of looking for the right place to stay, HotelReservations.com will be of great help. The site has a lot to offer covering almost all vacation concerns from accommodation to transportation. Choices in accommodation ranges from hotels, motels and resorts including vacation rentals to name a few. A comprehensive directory of hotels, motels, resorts is available for every destination including the published rates for each establishment. Hence, choosing where to stay will be easy for I can check first the specific location, the amenities of the hotel, the inclusions of the published rate, and the most important is, to compare hotel rates. Flight bookings is also one of the services the site offers. Thus, planning and booking for our flight will be convenient than going to airline booking offices. But seems there’s a lot to do with arranging our own vacation. I guess getting a vacation package is much more convenient for us…and much cheaper, I suppose. It is the best worry-free and hassle-free solution for any vacation. Among others, best deals are also offered…meaning, big hotel discounts of up to 70%. What a great savings in our part. So, for our first out-of-the-country vacation, we will be booking with HotelReservations.com for our convenience and to avail of the great discounts.

Hi! I’m back after an unplanned vacation since Friday. My sister and her family visited us here last Friday morning and convinced us to go home with them. At first I was hesitant for I am not prepared and I’d miss a lot for I wasn’t even done with my daily blog hopping routine…but Ace would like to go with them. On the other hand, I also love going home to bond with our relatives, visit mother’s grave, meet my high school friends and churchmates, etc….etc. There’s no place like home…really. When I was still working, I can only go home during holidays or when there’s special occassion like Mamang’s death anniversary, new year and holy week. Everytime I went home, I usually call a day off to extend my stay in Kabacan for the most difficult part of staying for a while in our hometown is leaving. It’s really hard to go back to Davao, to go back to reality. Now, I can stay in Kabacan as much as I want for I own my time. This is one of the many benefits of being unemployed and the time spent with my family, relatives and friends are all priceless.
Though our vacation is short, we just had a great time bonding with everybody…doing our favorite pasttime, eating. Seems we had a reunion. From the time we arrived until last night, our tummies are all busy. Eating here and there…good thing my metabolism is fast or else, I would have gained weight after endless eating and drinking softdrinks.

This was taken yesterday while we are grilling Tilapia ( a fresh water fish), one of the many food trips we had during the weekend.

I and my hubby just arrived home from Camiguin Island together with some friends (my high school batchmates). After days of being away from home, I’m back….back to reality, back to the real world. For four days, I’ve been away from the hassles, from the stressors in life. It was so nice coming back recharged. Going back from a vacation is one of the hardest thing to do but I need to face my real world, at work and at home. However, I find it really helpful being away for a couple of days or more to compose myself and to have time to think while enjoying nature’s wonders.
