After delaying posting Day 2 of our Manila Getaway, now I don’t have a choice but to post it. Or else it will remain under my to-do list until next year. For those who missed our Day 1, check it out here.
To start the super eventful Day 2, Ace asked Nai if the bus we’re going to take is like the one he’s seeing on TV where passengers will run after it just to be able to get in. He was answered “no”. So the bus adventure started when Borski and Nai stepped inside the bus first. I should be following them but had to give way to an old man. That old man stepped back and went to the rear end so I followed him (Ace was also following me) thinking that the bus has two doors. When I realized there’s no other door, I went back and the bus is already running slowly. Afraid that we might be left behind, I pushed Ace to get in first because he’s nearer the door and followed him immediately. In times like this, my adrenaline works faster than Ace.LOL. Just when we were seated, the bus came to a full stop for the traffic light turned RED. Bummer!
Our itinerary says “MRT (Manila Rail Transit) joy ride from Taft to North EDSA (that’s from the first to the last station)”. It’s a Saturday but the station is packed with people. While Borski and Nai are lining up to get our cards, Ace said “mag-taxi nalang tayo” (let’s take a taxi). But I sternly said no because we are doing this on purpose. I wasn’t able to enjoy my first MRT ride before because it’s quite short and I wanted Ace to experience it also despite of the inconvenience. So we got our cards, carefully followed others what to do and after minutes, we’re waiting for the train! The train’s full packed that we had to stand up until we’re on the middle of our destination. Ace was finally seated two stations before we got off. We missed taking photos inside the MRT because the camera’s with Ace and he don’t feel like bringing it out in the middle of the crowd (that made me desire more about getting a compact digital camera for shooting convenience). We got off the MRT at North EDSA station and walked to SM City North EDSA. The place is so familiar that made me reminisce my almost-one month stay at Veteran’s Memorial Medical Center (due to my late Mamang’s hospitalization) located at the next block after SM City North EDSA going to QC Circle. I actually wanted to visit VMMC so Ace could also see it but we’re running out of time.
Anyway, we went to SM North EDSA to meet Mommy Bing (one of the bloggers that became an online friend when I started blogging) and to deliver her orders of cloth diapers from my sister Carol. Meet-up wouldn’t be complete without photos so here’s some of our snaps
with Mommy Bing
the whole gang except Ace who took this photo
Ate Bing, daughter Jenine, moi and Borski
the bloggers with my prince charming.LOL (thanks Nai for taking this photo)
Borski and moi’s knights in shining armour
After SM North EDSA, our next destination is the famous house in Philippine Television, the Pinoy Big Brother House (PBB House). Obviously, I and Ace are fanatic of this reality show so we won’t be missing this opportunity to see the house in person. It’s just a short ride from SM North to this famous house….
But Ace was so DISAPPOINTED. He was expecting the house to be big (as what he is seeing on TV). He was even looking for the fence with the Pinoy Big Brother logo but it was dismantled because they are preparing for the eviction in the evening. Hence you will see people setting up the stage.
To his disappointment, Ace wasn’t in the mood for picture taking so we only had one photo together
Though Borski and Nai are not PBB fanatics as me and Ace, they also pose for a souvenir photo
and here’s the fence that Ace is looking for. Saw this at one corner near the PBB’s activity area.
From PBB, next stop is Tiendesita’s for a dog show and blogger friend meet up.
After more than a year of reading and leaving comments to each other’s blogs, finally we met!
I’m one big follower of Paula’s blog Happy Thoughts, Happy Tot months after I started blogging last year so I’ve seen Paula and her family in the photos she posted in her blog. So it wasn’t too hard to recognize her, Z (her son) and S (her hubby) even from afar. Though we started as online friends, I think one thing that binds us is that we have common interests and preferences on things. Just look at our tops! Same cloth, almost the same color. Coincidence?
and here’s with the unico hijo, Z (Zyke).
Z and Chewee. As far as I can remember, Chewee is their birthday gift to Z (tama ba sis?)
and here’s Paula’s real treasure! Her family!
After the picture taking and a short chat about blogging and other things that interests us, we bid goodbye. ‘Till next time sis! Then we headed back to Regalla Towers in Cubao to meet Ace’ Dad who’s staying there for a business trip. Visit at Regalla and how our night went with Ace’ childhood friend will cover the next part of our Manila Getaway Day2.
