Our life, experiences, and lessons learned

Travelling to the country’s capital is one of the many things I missed when I left my previous job. For my third OB (Official Business) trip two years ago, I’ve been very  excited ‘coz the whole team will be going to Tagaytay City to attend the 1st URC HR Conference. My boss planned for our itenirary since it will be my first time there. For us to have some bonding time together, we need to be in Tagaytay Sunday afternoon so I took the 2nd flight of Cebu Pacific (we are not allowed to fly thru any airline for OB trips because it is also owned by the Gokongwei’s…but we don’t have special previleges. Geese! Anyway, their money is revolving within the companies they own).

Back to my trip, I was already in Manila Domestic Airport at almost 1PM and waited for my boss to fetch me. I haven’t took my lunch yet as I only had Quake Cake and my favorite C2 for merienda, the food served in the aircraft. After one hour, I’m already starving but I cannot leave my things so that I could buy something to eat. Another option is to leave the airport and go to my aunt’s house in Pildera, a few minutes from the airport, but I’m afraid my boss would arrive anytime. I texted my cousin, Marichel for rescue and she said they’ll be at the airport in few minutes ‘coz they were at SM Sucat having lunch with her older sister’s family. They brought me my favorite McDo treats (Burger McDo and French Fries) so I was able to eat.

Whew! I’m back….I’m writing this post earlier. Actually, I’m already done with this very long post when….oppppssss! Here we are again. Our server is down (again!)*sigh*. Only half was saved and now, I’m back to finish my story.

Anyway, I’m not in the mood anymore to finish my story in detail. To cut the story short, we drove directly to Tagaytay when my boss arrived at around 4PM, had a sumptous dinner (her treat!) in one of the restos overlooking Taal Lake and Volcano. We stayed in her place for the night and find our way to PhinMa (the conference’ venue) the following morning. The day is long though and quite bored with the long presentation of the HR Managers of different divisions so I just help myself up with the overflowing supply of different URC products such as C2 Green Tea, Nature’s Harvest, Hot Loops Doughnuts, Chippy, Nova, V-cut, Maxx candies, Nissin Cup Noodles….etc. Also, to keep my nerves awake, I had numerous trips to the comfort room (blame it to the C2). Before we retire for the day, we rehearsed our dance number to be presented during the HR Idol the following night as we are so excited to show off our costumes.

In the morning, Cleo voluntered to take a bath first as I and Jacq are still groggy after a long talk that kept us awake until past midnight. When Jacq’s turn, she emerged from the bathroom after more than 5 minutes. We thought she’s finished taking a shower but she hasn’t. She called Cleo (actually, per Cleo, it took her long to find the shower’s on/off handle/button that’s why she spent almost 30 minutes inside the bathroom during her turn) to teach her how to turn on the shower as she can’t find the dial/handle to turn it on. This one is not the traditional shower faucets used at home and other hotels. It’s our first time to encounter such so we were all laughing at this experience. After Jacq is my turn. Since I cannot reach for the button to turn the shower on, I asked Jacq to do it for me*LOL*. That’s the disadvantage of being so petite. Cleo is petite but I am shorter than her for a few inches. Well, at least we learned something with the shower*LOL* and I hope  it’s my first and last encounter with that kind coz I really cannot reach the handle. The shower looks like this less the handle.

Just imagine how will you turn the shower on without the handle*wink*.
